There were easily 2x the amount of fans that came out to the New Jersey SX.
Being so late in the season and not so spring like weather and the fact that this part of the country isn't known for dirt bikes being the biggest sport I was happy to see it.
Does anyone know the claimed amount of people there?

To think they charged 50 bucks a ticket plus 30 dollars for parking. I was a little outraged at the price for parking

I was happy to see that they had a nice crowd there. I dont plan to ever go to New York/New Jersey, but it was great to see so many people who obviously have been missing Supercross for a long time, enjoying it. Last weekend, while there wasnt any races going on, I managed to watch every Atlanta Supercross since 1989 on youtube and it was amazing watching the growth of the sport, just in this particular area. I saw plenty of races this year where the crowds favored the earlier crowds in Atlanta.

22,000, 28,000 and the like in stadiums that held much more. Obviously its a bigger passion in certain cities and it appears that obviously Anaheim having three races is just 2 races too many there, so I am hoping either they will expand to another market next year or do like the rumor has it, that Atlanta will get two races. One towards the beginning of the season and one towards the end. I dont think back to back venues will work at all, so they need to spread it out a little.

I guess I never paid attention but did Florida not pull enough people into the stadiums when they had Tampa and Miami on the schedule?

They were around 45k sold at the beginning of the month. Gotta wonder if the weather wasn't questionable if they could have pushed it higher.

Welcome to NY/NJ.... I just looked at what I pay in tolls to get to work and am a little outraged myself.

Did you look in to Mass Transit?

Sometimes not having to drive is nice in this area.

Thats the norm around here. Sorry about that.

I had my Rockstar hoodie, and Rockstar hospitality pass, and was waved through, not having to pay for parking. Got lucky!

Yea, I guess the $50 tickets and $30 parking as well as $12 beers are needed to pay for the union labor lol. I live in NJ but hate driving to that meadowlands area but would do it again year after year to see an sx....

I will agree if there is 2 Atlantas they have to spread them out. No way they will have 65,000 or more. I'm still a little worried that Atl can have two races with good attendance. Most people drive from all the southeast states to go to that race and can that many people afford to do it twice?

Rumor Tampa is back on the schedule next year

70 % of the 3rd level was empty 62,000, plus sounds suspicious. Im pretty sure the crappy weather didnt help much though.

Hence the reason nothing is made in the US anymore.

The weather definetely hurt the attendance. I already know a ton of people who didn't go this year that want to go next year. It was a good time and remember don't bring your girl and kid in bad weather

$30 for parking was cheap try going there for a football game. I had no problem with the $30 I paid it twice. Since I went for the out party went home grabbed my girl and went back for the night show

12 dollar beers has nothing to do with unions. They aren't union in indiana and they are 8.

The stadium holds over 82,000. Not sure how they count boxes etc but there easily could have been 62000

Cost of living between here and Indiana is the reason of $12 and $8 beers. This is the highest cost of living area in the country

If the stadium holds 82000 I say a real number is closer to 50000. I asked the question. So if that's what they say it is, there's my answer.
Still that's 45000 more than I expected. Its rare if I ever see a vehicle that shows sings of belonging to a dirtbike guy. And judging by the amount of mx tracks and places to legally ride in NJ I was blown away when I pulled in and it looked like the Jets were playing.

30 dollars to park is just ridiculous
I took out a 20 and thought I was going to get change.

And don't blame Unions for the high price of parking. If you paid it it's your fault. If it weren't for Unions we would be getting paid in fish heads and white mush to eat with our fingers like they do in countries that can get away with it .

Oh really? So we blame unions now for the U.S. shipping our work out... funny. But you sir are wrong.

I come from a long line of union workers, Railroad.. Ford.. GM.. GD.. Textron / Bell and I can assure you these people earn every damn penny they make and deserve what they get. They get 67 million per aircraft and they want to pay these people 15 an hour with no health insurance? That is why we have unions, to keep some good jobs around. Might as well work at McDonalds. And if you believe the whole union workers are lazy maybe you should do a tour of the GM assembly line. Sounds like you need to get a Union job so you can afford parking and a couple tickets to watch supercross Wink - keyboardjockey
