That second photo is one of the best action shots I've seen, pure "moto" !
Kind of makes me think of that sick road race save by Marquez :

Funny you mention that Xavier, Marvin posted this pic on his IG: Cool

marvinmusquin25: After seeing @marcmarquez93 picture from last week, I wanted to try to lean as much as I could during practice.

Ha ha, hadn't seen it but not surprising because these pics do have a lot of similarities !

And I understand Marquez can ride MX too, right?

Not quite Marvin's style, though :

Can't wait until Marv gets on a 450.

I agree. A la Cairoli...he's a poster child for success on a 350, I think. He's smaller and lighter than some other riders, and could throw the 350 around like he does his 250.

I think steve matthes had a good point about the 350
guys moving from a 250 - 350 ride it like its a high powered 250 look at Kenny and musquin, both of them did great on it but when you take a 450 guy and give him less power its much more difficult.
andrew short for example could never get it to work for him

I'm pretty sure Shorty is still riding the 350, not the 450.

Those cornering pics are blowing my mind. His body position on the bike is more comparable to how you corner a road bike. But with the berms as big as they are in those pics, it makes sense.

For marquez, it's traction control, nothing else. The electronics made all with this gp bikes.

Amazing how squatted down the rear end is on Musquin's bike round that turn. Imagine that takes some work from the suspension techs.

Cheers

I remember an interview Short did this year (on Pulpmx?) when he talked about his success using 3rd gear for starts and in that interview he said that he was using the 350. That may have changed for outdoors, but he was successful on the 350, contrary to the post that I was originally responding to.

You're wrong. He's been a 450 guy all year and ever since going back to KTM the second time, pull out now, stop arguing with these blokes, they know.

Little bit of luck involved with that save by Marquez. Smile

Don't know what he weighs, but Marv looks like tallest in the Lites class to me, and looks taller than Dungey, no?

Indeed Marvin looks tall but I think he is as thick as a throttle cable. Would love to see him finish 2nd in the championship.

ya there isn't much too him!

Deano might be taller? He seems to definitely think he's too heavy for the bike. I on't know I agree, he surely couldn't weigh that much more than Tomac did last year or even Dean did when he won. Granted he's racing Baggets and whatnot but he seemed fine before. Kinda wish he didn't get injured at GH!

cairoli went from yam 450 to ktm 350

i think theres a few decent 350 candidates for next year- marvin and baggett would both haul on a factory 350!!
