could be the good start plus the slower paced race course.still good to see another rider going at it.

Anyone think he will be consistently up front or was it more of a fluke. Milsaps did it so I think it's possible. Brayton has been a little more under the radar so it's really hard to tell.

Cant take anything away from JB10! Doesn't matter weather it was a combination of bike/rider/track conditions........he was running solidly between two of the best riders in the business. keeping one on his toes and keeping the other behind him.! awesome to see another possibility for a win.

Most of you already know my thoughts on JB Cool But I gotta say I am SO pumped for him right now! Incredible/smart ride last night, and IMHO it was no fluke and he's here to stay (up front) this season! 2013 was rough with injuries, but don't forget, in 2012 he finished 4th in the series with 5 podiums (actually tied with Dungey for 3rd but Dungey got the tie breaker with wins obviously). Now he's healthy, comfortable, loves the new bike and is also fresh off an impressive XGames gold medal ride (not to mention yet another win in Geneva). Yes it's only two rounds into the season and yes it was only one race, but he's been within a few tenths of the leaders in lap times in qualifying both weeks so far, and he rode to a quiet (yet impressive) 6th at the opener last week. In what is once again one of the deepest fields ever, where there are 6 or 7 guys who "could and should win a main" (and he's not one of them lol) I'd say a 6-2 and 4th in points to start the season is definitely looking good for one of the nicest, hardest working guys out there! Keep it up JB!! Wink

It's been a great season for the fans all the way around so far, tons of great racing and great story lines, cant wait for A2!

P.S. Watching a guy like him making time in the whoops every lap against the best in the business was the best part! Wink Gave me goose bumps and reminded me of the good ol days Cool Haven't seen that in quite some time.

Alright, Paul...
I don't really recall your stance regarding Brayton.
Remind me, please.

He looked super good in the whoops! He nailed that 3 3 3 section every lap as well. I'm really happy for the guy and that team.

Yeah he looked great last night. Didn't even seem phased when RV caught and passed him which bodes well, in fact it seemed to ignite the fire in him.

Hope he can carry this form on.

His speed through the whoops was awesome. I haven't really searched, but what are his thoughts on the changes to the bike from this year compared to last? Obviously he seems to gel with it and I'm glad too because JGR seems like a top notch team.

He pulled Dungey, held off RV and when the champ finally got by he held tight putting big blue into #1's roost on those final turns. He belongs there, now he knows it.

I was hoping Barcia would have been able to slow everyone else down a little longer so he could sneak away.

You nailed that one, Paul.
Yes, all of us at little old Iowa D22 think we own a piece of JB.

A bunch of proud fathers, or in my case grandfathers.

The more tight and technical the track the better Brayton seems to do. Brayton always has races where he does really good with a great start, but I don't remember him coming from behind to get on the box? That was a great ride though and I really wanted him to win and thought he was a little too nice on those last corners!

It's crazy how important the start is these days for everyone besides RV. Remember the days when MC, RC and Stewart could start anywhere pretty much and be in the lead by the end of the race? Those days are gone and it's amazing how talented the top 20 in SX are now!

Awesome job by Brayton and I hope he backs it up again this weekend!

he got passed by RV, but did not get yarded by him, something that not many people can say after Saturday night....

good for him... he definitely looked like he is just as fast as the top 3.... and looked like he should have legitimately had the win... he proved he is legit in the hunt.. however... now that the genie is out of the bottle... when he puts in another 7th place ride we now know for sure he can do better than that...

Those days aren't truly gone then when Villopoto can almost start anywhere and still win a race then I presume?

Dungey was faster everywhere on the track...but JB10 killed him every time in the whoops and pulled a little gap. IMO JB10 carried the most speed out of everyone thru the "hoops". Hell he came right up to RV's rear wheel thru them on the last lap. Very impressive ride for him!!

I say no fluke. JB10 will be a top5 throughout the series and top 5 at the end. He is healthy, recently married, 1st child on the way, new Yamaha YZ450 to race equals a great combination

I vote for Phil Niccolitti to be out there racing the JGR Yamaha YZ450.

And kudos to the CycleTrader Yamaha team for signing Les Smith#64 to race in Pheonix, I hope he stays on the team for the year.

GO BLUE!!!

Yeah I noticed that too. Looks like they got the woops section dialed in.
