Is something wrong with him? Injured? Low confident? He is in the same program, same trainer, same bike and same place for practice with RV, I'm not bashing him, I like him to do good. Hope he can do better for outdoors!

It'll be interesting to see who gets his ride next season that's for sure. Since moving up to the 450, he hasn't performed well enough for factory rider standards. I'd be shocked if he's on a factory team next year.

He's got a deal with Kawi for next year... And he's been injured a bunch... Had mono, broken ribs, hit his head all sorts of shit.

He's got speed tho, he'll be fine.

Maybe practicing with RV does not help his confidence. He has the ability to run top 5, I'm sure the injuries haven't helped.

I like Jake, good straight shooter/approachable guy-but all I know is he better show some pretty serious stuff in the outdoor season or Kawi's gonna show him the door sooner rather than later. He's floundering around with guys in the pack that he should be well ahead of in the race.
Btw, there's usually "outs' in every contract. So it's not like Kawa can't release him-I'm thinking....

Of course, I'm sure he knows all this.......I'm hoping we actually get to see the old Jake!

I hope he can end the SX season strong and carries that confidence over to the Outdoor Series. I'd like to see him really mix it up with the current front runners...

Jake was the man on a lites bike. He's had some good finishes but nothing like I thought. I honestly used to think Jake would be a contender in the big class

Did he have mono, or pneumonia? He hasn't been the same since which ever it was. I just think he's not able to get enough training in, or he's not 100% yet.

Followed by injured ribs. I thought he broke ribs, but don't know to what level. He has had a one-two hit this season, hopefully he gets healthy. I have been disappointed since he moved up to the 450s. I never liked him as a Lites rider and was hoping his humbled persona he started giving off in the 450s would change my tune. So far he is just another top 10 rider. Factory rides are so scarce nowadays, I know a lot of you think there are others more deserving of that ride.

I'll agree Jake is having a rough go of it in 2013, but the kid landed on the podium 5 times in 2012, and his best finish (2nd in Phoenix) was with everyone healthy. Like a few people mentioned, I don't think training with RV is working for him, but I think injuries are his main issue in '13

As far as the worst 250 Champ ever comment goes, you must of combined sniffing glue with your bong water drinking regimen. Weimer straight-up beat Dungey on numerous occasions in 2009--losing the championship by a slim 5 points. In 2010--the year he won the championship--he had Trey Canard, Wil Hahn, Broc Tickle, Blake Wharton and Josh Hansen to deal with and won 4-5 main events.

Oh yeah, and he spanked this incredibly deep field straight-up in the East-West shoot-out in Vegas. Yeah, kid sucked.Whistling

To me, it looks like Jake's back is fucked and he's just telling everyone he's ok. He looks stiff on that 450, very upright, not fluid and aggressive at all. Like every movement hurts him.

And like Reed, I don't think the big KX450 is the best fit for him.

He was amazing on the 250f, and looked great when he first moved up in the 2011 preseason before he was hurt. It's a testament to his skills that he still does as well as he does.

Whenever you hear him talk in videos it seems like he has such little confidence. Weimer is a fuggin boss though and his main bitch is pretty fine
