Umm! probably only takes and extra 20 min. to get to Highpoint rather than Steel City from Pittsburgh.

i think they should which ever track has the worse dirt and put one in the southeast

get rid of one of the CA nationals, and bring back Gatorback, FL. that is one of, if not the largest pocket of MX fans in the country, FL.

I don't understand. Year in year out, both HP and SC offer some of the best races of the year. It would be dumb to get rid of either one.

it was dumb to get rid of gainesville, and it was dumb to have it scheduled in the middle of SX too. should be the season opener, right where steel city is right now.

Lose Steel City. Add one in the Southeast. Substitue GH back in for Pala (this will never happen, but I will dream).

yea...pala is a turD compared to Glen Helen...

There are better tracks in texas then freestone too... Mosier Valley, Cycle Ranch, etc...soo many better tracks. Freestone is good but its essentially Kenworthys picked up and dropped in the middle of Texas. All man made elevation changes, jumps, etc

HP is way more traditional, been to both MANY times and its no comparison for me.
A round in the southeast would be better in the fall slot of SC anyway.

High Point has the history... Steel City is a better track for spectator viewing. I'd hate to see either of them get cut.

+1 and...... since they are both promoted by MX Sports its highly unlikely they will cut their own throat.

I choose Lakewood.
why it has produced some of the better racing especially in the lites class. It's a technical track especially after the changes for MXDN. Than throw in the altitude it's a great challenge to the teams & riders.

Dont cut either PA race. If anaheim can have 3 races in the same damn stadium, PA should be able to have 2 races in 1 state. I agree that there needs to be a SE round, but I would start chopping rounds elsewhere if I were actually a sombody..which I'm not

yea..drop Pala and move it to a good track in the southeast

I'd say drop hangtown but the track is old and has lots of history...

Pala is just another supercross track on steroids

Actually, I ment to say Thunder Valley in TX. That track sucks and I hear Spectator viewing isn't much. My least enjoyable tracks are Thunder Valley, Pala then Lakewood. So really it isn't that far off. But in Lakewood's defense I would rate it on par with Hangtown. If they are going to pick a track to go to the south east, it should be Thunder Valley. To put the Ax to either Highpoint or Steel City should be a crime. Both are excellent tracks with great spectator viewing. I actually like Steel City better because you can see pretty much the whole track from just about anywhere.

It's stupid to cut a PA race that has good attendance for a gamble on the south east. Has anyone seen the Jacksonville supercross? Just because an area has a lot of people who ride doesn't mean their area warrants a national. Look at freestone, the track sucks for spectating, the racing is never good, and riders are passing out and having heat strokes. It makes to sense to have a race there. I actually like watching Pala and Thunder Valley. Hangtown is garbage, not to mention everyone hates the track and the people who run it. IMO the idea we need a So. Cal national is also not necessarily the case. They have a ton of supercross races. The north east has 0, that's what should be changed here, not giving us less races.

Another race in the midwest or south east. Drop Hangtown and Pala, add GH back in and a new track.

"Thunder Valley" is Lakewood Colorado. The Texas national is at "Freestone County Raceway"

Keep both of them and dump one of the flat supercross style tracks, Freestone or Pala.

One things for sure, everyone wants someone else's region to lose the race, like it has anything to do with anything else. Funny how that is. I seriously doubt any west coast rounds will be going back east, unless Washougal's land use permitting issue raises its head again and buggers things up. A southeast round would have allocated things pretty balanced across the country.

Premixed, it wasn't so much that Gainesville got scheduled in the SX season as SX grew up around the existing nationals schedule. The nationals opener always was much earlier in the year (traditionally Hangtown, then Gainesville), and SX carried over into the summer with a lot of back and forth. They eventually got harmonized around the time Gainesville sold its national.

I thought DC always hinted at it being one of their PA races that would get swapped out for a southeast round when it was ready, and that there was some issue with on going leases at one of the PA sites, but y recollection is vague as its been discussed over the last couple years.
