What i get from the interview is hes staying in mx2 with one more year in his contract (2015) and ktm interested in winning another mx2 championship it makes sense but sucks for the fans.

That same sentence to me just meant that Herlings had another year on his contract with the team, not really the bike or class.

At first I thought Herlings was staying in MX2 to stroke his ego a bit and avoid any potential damage AC might cause to it...NOW I think its KTM that wants him there so they can continue to win the MX1 and 2 championships every year.

Exactly! AC is dominating mxgp and herlings mx2 ,again make sense for herlings to stay down but its crappy for us fans.

I would have to agree. Are there any rules over seas for stuff like this? idk i dont follow the gp's too close but i do appreciate the tv coverage this year the tracks over there look like so much fun.

To me that's the exact reason why the factory racing team rather sees Herlings in mx2 then anywhere else. They have been dominating the series this way for a few years now.

In this weekend's GP Herlings was in the announce box with Paul Malin. There he stated nothing was decided yet as the focus for the first half of the season was purely to get on top of the championship.

So to me this also just says that he has another year on his contract, nothing about the bike/class.

Hmmm. I wonder if he would want to move up and KTM persuaded him to stay in the MX2. If he's happy, then life's good.

I thought Malin brought up the subject of Herlings size and a move to the big bike for 2015 but Herlings said nothing was decided for 2015 and that another year on the 250 had not been ruled out.

Of course he is, did you think for a minute he was not?

Herlings may as well stay in the MX2 as long as he can. At the end of the day, to be the best you have to race the best and he is one of the best. After he turns 23, he is forever in MXGP unless he goes to the states, which he has admitted he doesnt really have interest in right now.. I hope he stays in the MX2.

For 2015, Herlings will have the choice to sign with Red Bull KTM or HRC Honda team (450F in that case)...

So you're saying he can opt out the ktm contract and sign with HRC starting 2015 season? excuse my ignorance

It would be cool to see how he could do on the Honda.
