I can tell you one thing that hasn't changed.....After watching the Daytona video above I believe they are still using the same cameraman that breaks away from a great race for the lead on the last lap so we can watch the guy in 3rd all by himself....

It's amazing to not only see the advancements of the bikes.....but how the skill levels of the riders themselves have progressed incredibly. Those guys in those older videos hauled ass for sure.....but the aggression and style has changed a LOT since back then. Watching them old videos really puts it into perspective for sure.

This is just my opinion but if you consider raw speed around the tracks as evolution of the sport then yes, it has evolved greatly. But to me the tracks were at their most challenging in the late 90s early 2000s.
