some of my observations from the side lines while sitting there all day!
the "balls to the wall, huck it and hope" award: the two guys that really sacked up lap after lap, traffic or not, sometimes hitting the leap side by side were ando and canard!!! while the front runners kenny and dungey were playing it safe most of moto 2 (the run up was getting pretty gnarly) and scrubbing the double, Jason and trey kept it pinned no matter how out of shape they got!!! imo Jason gets the nod but trey got some bonus points for coming up short and casing about every lap and still going for it!!! it was crazy...cool stuff... honorable mention goes to grant and nicoletti for their efforts, making the leap more times than not while in traffic!!! last years big winner, eli tomac only went for it once or twice in the second moto... did not look happy!!!
freestyle awards: Barcia's "kiss of death" panic rev runs were awesome but the gold metal winner was Justin bogle for his one footed leg waves while looking at the crowd!!!
couldn't really tell if there was any time advantage by doing the leap, but it was a great show!!!
