He didn't look to be holding Cairoli up! He must be feeling more comfortable and fitter!

This was a gnarly GP for me. Had shit to do saturday. Never fell asleep Saturday night. Got up at 1:45am, showered and jumped in the car en route from Warsaw to Loket. 11.5 hours and a few mix ups later I arrived just after the first motos. I RAN up that huge hill to the track, then up and over to the Paddock. Great training with a backpack!!!!

But I so much fun! It has been about 9 years since I last went to a GP. What a scene!!!
I was super pumped for the TM guys when Tanel grabbed the holeshot and lead much of the second moto!!!!

Also, I met THE Dave Bulmer (sp) of Vurbmoto fame (the British dude that followed the nats in a beat up RV a few years ago). Cool dude!

Now I'm at a rest stop outside of Dresden, Germany getting ready to grab some shut-eye at a dodgy motel.

Oh yeah....Pourcel did ride well but I knew AC222 was going to pass him. (sorry for going off topic there in the beginning....I am seriously tired!)

Great news! Hopefully this is a sign of something nice. His top five second moto is really good for CP standard, also since it's 35 +2 laps meaning he is probably back, at least physically?

Damn, MX1 has really caught my attention lately because of CP's return. Youthstream should pay him bonus money out of their pocket dammit! Smile

Thats funny CP hasnt been a factor till today...the MX 1 is where the best racing is right now. The racing is close and intense every race, much more exciting to watch than the ama nationals IMO.

Yeah, MX1 has really become much more interesting lately, in contrast to MX2 and the 250F class in the Nationals...

I was willing him on in both Moto's, so glad for CP, his team and his fans like me. That was a freaking gnarly GP in comparison to many tracks and the man did well.

MX1 is getting better and better and I hope he keeps mixing it up for the rest of the year, 2012 will be even better with another racer in the fray for the podium, it used to be MX2 where the action was at but now I can barely watch it TBH. i just skip straight through to the big boys.

Yes strange how watching a German winning (almost) everytime out is so off putting. It was the same with Shuemacher in F1.
But with Valentino, Ricky C, McGrath and some others I always enjoy it with them. Just me?

Not sure nationality comes into it for me, more the fact that when Ken wins he's usually leading from a holeshot, which is kind of boring.

I don't mind someone winning regularly when they have to battle hard to get there, but when they check out and put 30 secs on 2nd place it gets a bit old for me even though i can appreciate the work they have put in / rider talent.

Must say i thought Herlings might have got Ken towards the end of the second moto and if he had, i reckon it would have rattled Ken a bit confidence wise even though he wouldn't have lost any points. Herlings has really impressed me this year, developing from a sand specialist to being ridiculously fast everywhere - i really don't think the pair can be separated now.

Saying that, i think the KTM gang have made MX2 a bit of a snooze fest this year. MX1, for me has been the better class to watch even if Tony wins there's been a decent turnover of positions in the top 15 week in week out.

Going by the work JDH has put in at Matterly, i'm thinking that the British GP can be one of the most entertaining of the year.

Ya gotta admit: He's been less than "productive" and his lil' episode with M/C didn't look too good, either.

Since he's left the 250s I've been wondering and commenting on "If" he can run -2- long-motos on a 450...or not...?

On the other-hand: He could turn-out to be THE Bad-Ass at SX...

Ya never know...besides...if Mitch REALLY does wanna run 450s: It's time to put CP and Hanny on'em.

I'm jus' knowin'...

i agree, he's been a mystery. a bad mystery.

but the guy can ride a motorcycle. good.

just funny what everyone was saying, like 9-DNS and stuff like that.

he went 13-5. that 5th place was a long shot from what all the naysayers were spouting.

I predicted 5-12 because I know he has the speed, but I assumed that he would have his usual second moto issue.
Maybe he is finally over that.
I'm predicting 4-5 at the next race.

Definately a good move coming back for this one,it suits his style down to the ground, it could well have added even more to the up down finishes in the class,he looked so smooth back on the Green bike,

Things are right back to where they were in the Schumi days I'm afraid. Hate to say it but im starting to get tired of hearing German anthems almost every weekend.

When its an average of 70 instead of 95-100 you wont have as many problems keeping your (rough) core body temperature down either. If I remember right he also had a problem with his body not naturally cooling him off enough.

Are you talking about an average over the GP season, or just about last Sunday?
But yes, last year he had trouble cooling down. The only time he won moto 2 was Colorado where it stayed overcast all day, and I forgot which race where he had a very short moto 1 before something went wrong.
Anybody who gets into a garbage can full of ice to cool down (like he and Wilson did last year) has my respect. I can't even take a cold shower these days...

The British GP should be awesome, great track, CP back on form, British MXDN shootout between Anderson, Billy Mac, Simpson and Nicholls, and a potential MX2 winner in Searle.

Best GP on the calender for atmosphere imo.
