Troybuilt weedeater,looks new.

Smoked it over back at HQ and deduced the spark arrester/ muffler is stobbed up,removed and waaa pow.

Think I will make a little reverse cone pipe for it.

Air filter was soaked with oil, could be over full or a ring .

Wonder if the person that tossed it went back to a smoker instead of a 4 smoker.

Probably a crack head stole it and dumped it because he realized they don't bring as much as 2 strokes at the Piggly Wiggly Pawn Shop! Smile

Look into Stihls weedwhacker and leafblower engines, 2 smoker with valves instead of transfer ports. Still have to mix fuel, but the mass wasting of scavenging is eliminated. Valves are operated off lobes on the crankshaft. Trouble is, what the fuck do call it? , a two stroke or a 4 stroke?

Stihl's term is 4Mix. I have a Stihl KM130R, thing is a beast.

Does the exhaust port still function the same as a standard 2-smoke?

More importantly, do they sound like a 2-smoke?

Seems the crankcase was completely full of oil, guessing that frothy oil pushed thru the vent soaking the airfilter and stopping up the muffler with carbon.

It is a throw away society, one day the people that own old landfills will have essentially a goldmine.

The craftsman is actually made by ryobi. It might have a bad oil reed. It's what keeps the oil in the case when rotating the engine.
The stihl 4mix is a great engine for clean air purposes, but very finicky and costly to maintain compared to a true 2 stroke(where have we heard this before?). Crank bearings are a common failure in the 4mix, and keep an eye on the valves.
I own a power equipment company, so I geek out on this craps haha.
