Ezra lusk holy shizzle saw him in early 2000 at a R.I.P. practice track called the x track he was insanely fast blowing by everybody even the local fast guys had no chance at all. the craziest thing about it was how bad he rutted the track in two hours time footpeg scrapping the rest of the day every corner and jump so fast.
The Shop
I was one of, if not the last guy, to leave the line for the practice session and halfway through the second lap I started hearing this 125 just wound out screaming behind me and getting closer fast. I'm thinking to myself holy crap these guys must be hauling if they're coming around to lap me already, then there was a yellow flash and I saw the name on the back of his jersey. I got brave and thought, well here you go, see if you can keep up. That lasted about three corners before I came to my senses and backed it down and he was still yarding me like I was standing still.
The first pro who could run with the big boys that I saw was Ross Pederson. You just don't realize the difference in speed between a local pro and national pro until you see the guy that would win every moto at your local races by 45 seconds or more get beat even worse than he beat up the rest of the locals.
One time he came for a benefit race and rode a lap around the track. I don't think his front wheel ever touched the ground!
I grew up watching Lance Vincent ride my local tracks, he was out there a couple months ago.
I'm rolling the whoops, get squirrely and wad.
I look up and I see Andrew Short blitz them like he was riding on flat ground; mind = blown.
Pit Row
Had to be there to truly experience it!
After that, destry abbot and of ocurse Jimmy Button and the Blose brothers!
"that can't actually be DeCoster, Weil, Bauer, Jones, Weinert, Lackey, DeSoto etc that I see in MXA/DirtBike & Pop Cycle is it!?" (:-D it was unreal at the time man. I was SO eat up with it.
