The new KTMs come with the lithium ion battery, so anyone who uses the weight as an argument against the e-start is just ignorant/stupid. And i have never ever had a problem with the e-start, just positives!

Jeremy Van Horebeek demanded that Yamaha would put a e-start on the bikes in the GPs.

Dead engine start with 300 people on the line, e start is a must if you desert race. Technical trail riding where you are on the side of a mountain, e start is really nice. Same arguement with FI systems 10 years ago. People thought they would breakdown. Those unruly 450's got much better once FI was adapted. ABS on street bikes is taken for granted now, another technology that is nice. Rekluse is another great product especially for hardley drivers that wear their shoes out.

Push 500lbs of motorcycle and gear uphill... No thanks. On a lightweight mx bike I still don't see the benefit of an e button. More weight...

On a lightweight mx bike I still don't see the benefit of an e button. More weight, more to go wrong, more to maintain, more cost.
Sure, it MIGHT save you a couple places in a race after a crash or stall, but is it worth the penalty?
For me. No.
I guess it depends how serious you are about racing. A couple places could be the difference between making it to LL's and not......and for some people their whole life may revolve around a race like that. .......as crazy as it sounds.

Nothing like stalling and then hit the button and losing no time.
Truth. I'd rather see my bike with e-start than fuel injectjon

A 450 is easy to kick. Just would be great not to have to kick it.
If you are tall enough, and have good hips, knees and ankles!
