I just checked stock on an 09 Ti4R pipe for an 09 KX 450 its retail was 999.00 but was discontinued. The new part number they suggested was only 799 but the dealer price was the same...hmmm

And that was from Parts Unlimited

I was told the dealer price was also dropped. If not then the Pipe manufacturers are selling at just about Dealer Cost.

$1 or $1000, don't care.
I have never bought a pipe in my life. I just don't get it.

A few years back I went to a muffler shop to get the muffler removed and just a straight pipe installed on my car. They had to custom bend it and weld it (it was about a 4 foot piece). Total price $35 and that included labor. Somebody is making a lot of money off these pipes, but then again, we gotta support those hopped up 250f's so they can get a new engine every race.

Me neither, and bent stockers are easy to replace because people give them away.

FMF has dropped the price for the dealer; infact, D's add (that you can see on here...at the top of this page) says,"Please see your LOCAL dealer"...

If you owned a Kawi 450 you want to change the pipe because the stock one is louder then a small block chevy with open headers...just sayin

you have never smashed a pipe and had to replace it? You never had to buy a pipe in your life? sounds like you never ride. Thats like saying you have never had to replace handle bars or levers or plastic, if you ride you will bend it smash it or brake at some point.

If a dealer is set up direct that would be the case. But does anyone think that FMF or PC is going to refund Tucker Rocky or Parts Unlimited the difference they paid for their existing instock pipes...uummm no. So a pipe from a distibuter may be cheaper retail, but the dealer price im going to say will not change until they turn the stock they already have

I was told by a TR rep that the dealer price has been adjusted for the discount.

I love it when newbies have no clue who they are talking to.

I miss motodrive.

at this point I would bet a lot of the dealers would rather have the cash in their register versus sitting on a muffler for a few months.

Will probably motivate a quite a few FMF boxes to be wrapped and under the tree.

I've been waiting on the prices to drop on the 2 stroke exhaust for a long time. I know the cost of R&D has been paid for by now.

If they could drop the price 20% you better believe they still are not losing money on the deal. That would mean they are making a pretty good profit on their pipes.

I'm amazed that a four stroke can that is 2-3x bigger than a two stroke can be 4-5x more expensive. Must be all the extra muffler packing the bigger cans require.

whos the newbie ?Yeah I miss motodrive too and fresh dirt and saddelback park but so what. I started racing in the eary 70s and bought lots of pipes because they were easy to smash or shook apart.I admit I dont know who most people are on vital including tregger or you by name because most dont fill out their profile. I just dont believe anyone who has been around for awhile has not had to buy a aftermarket pipe. Maybe im missing something MOTO814 so why dont you enlighten me ?

Pipes are nothing more than a big waste of money. The stock exhaust are very good. You could buy 6 or 7 sets of tires for the price of a PC exhaust or even worse a FMF exhaust. A PIPE FOR A BIKE WILL NOT MAKE YOU FASTER!!!!! $ for $ there is not a better peformance part for your bike on the market than a new set of tires.

I agree on a four stroke they are a big waste of cash but on a 2 stroke a aftermarket pro circuit pipe cost half as much as a stock pipe and you got a performance gain so it was a cheap way to replace a smashed pipe.
