It's a lot easier to identify a rider in the track when they don't keep changing the numbers every year, I don't see any advantage to this system. For example, we all know Pourcel as 377, but now he has to run the number 30. Pretty pointless in my opinion.

For instance all 25 of Topher Ingalls points came from the West Coast SX, under the old system he wouldn't get a 2 digit number as he went to Canada to race this summer. Dean Wilson only shown 204 Outdoor points and 47 450sx points, etc...
