I'm sure this has been beat to death, but I can't find it on here. Just want to know what spring rate to use on a 14 Yz 250. 4.9 won't give me the proper numbers. Not sure if I need a 5.1 or 5.3?

Race tech calculator seems a little stiff.
Thanks guys

Those spring calculators are dependent on that particular company's valving. We are the same weight age and skill level, and I was running .49 fork springs and 5.5 shock on stock valving with 390cc of oil in the front and still slamming it onto it's guts at least once per lap. Sent to factory connection and they dropped me down to .47 and 5.1. (which is stock) So take that for what it's worth. The devil is in the valving, I guess.

Race Tech's spring rates are recommended based on getting the geometry of the bike where it is balanced and not choppered out or stink-bug feeling and to match our recommended sag/preload numbers.

Everything Race Tech does is 100% guaranteed.

We have done a TON of YZ250's and I've personally done follow up calls with many of the riders on their setups with extremely positive results.

I recently had my YZ's suspension revalved and resprung by another company and I had to jump up to a 5.0 or 5.1.

I am about 165 and race A.

Doesn't seem too stiff in the rear, and im sure with stiffer fork springs, it wont seem like a huge jump

If you need a Ti 5.3kg rear spring that fits the YZ250, you can find take-off Titanium YZ250F springs relatively cheap.
