New Yorker Max Gomez had a life-altering event a number of months ago at a regional qualifier in which he had to have his leg amputated below the knee due to artery failure. Max is looking to make a comeback riding and in this video I did up, he talks about the entire incident and how people are helping and support Max as he adjusts to his new way of life. Also, making appearances in this video are Only One Inspiration's Harold Glissen, who has been working closely with Max ever since the incident, and Iraq war veteran and amputee Tom Lee, who just met Max at the time of the shoot to share his experience with Max as well. Cue in the inspiration mood in 3....2....

Matt that is a great story man....thanks for posting that.

I had heard about his accident but didn't know the rest of the story.

Great vid Matt, Harold has been an inspiration to the MX community for a long time (not to mention how well he can ride a motorcycle). I used to race against Harold back in the late 80's into early 90's D6 and it always blew my mind how well he rode and what a fierce competitor he is. We ran into Harold at the Des Nations at Budds and I got to talk with him for a bit, the guy is still moto to the core! I think a documentary about Harold would be something for everyone to watch.

Looks like a bunch of good people supporting this kid, Max.
Wish nothing but the best for Max, he can't go wrong with support like this.

Bobby thats the nicest post I have ever seen from you! And I couldnt agree more! I have a buddy from WI that basicly went through the exact same thing. They casted leg with ruptured arteries and the leg died. He lives a pretty badass life, and it has not slowed him down one iota....
