Agree. Mud or no mud, Roczen hung it out there, Dungey didn't. End of story.

Yep!

Would of been nice if it didn't rain....but all these guys have to deal with the same thing. Kenny dropped the hammer and it paid off.

I hate hate hate that saying . Its pure crap , it would nt be called luck then . There was nothing lucky about K ROC winning yesterday or the champ . But saying is stupid . Take unlucky riders who got injured over and over eg Reynard , Henry , when they fell they got bad injurys . Then take RC and all the huge crashes he had never had many injurys , RR and Henry worked every bit as hard as RC did , RC was lucky that he never had many injurys . I know the training helped and all .but end of the day some people just seem to be unlucky , YOU DO NOT MAKE UR OWN LUCK , the GOAT is still the best ever , but that was a dumb statement imo . What could CANARD do about Morris landing on him ? don't say get the hole shot , cause RC had many races were he did nt

It boiled down to Dungeys two lousy hole shots. If he'd have started up front he'd have ended up there. Kenny made it mighty easy on himself by grabbing good starts. If the holeshot is 75% of a dry race I'd say it's probably 90% in a wet race. I'm a Dungey man but you can't expect to run up front if you don't start there no matter who you are. (especially wet races). Good on Kenny. He deserves it, hard fought.

Dungey finished SECOND in the first moto after a bad start and being 6th after the first lap. Noren finished in front of Dungey in the second moto after getting stuck in the gate where Dungey was 11th after the first lap and ended the race in 9th so I wont agree with you on that one. Yes, the start is very important and Roczen did that better than Dungey, just like everything else he has done better than the rest for the full season.

I am a fan of both riders but was hoping Dungey was going to get this years top spot. That being said - weather is part of racing. Kenny adapted better to the sloppy conditions with better starts and solid motos and put himself in a great situation for the championship.

Congrats to both riders on a great year - now hope they bring us one last epic race.

Pulling a tear off before the first turn is nasty! Call me a puss but my bike stayed on the trailer on days like yesterday. The privateers are going to be hating life rebuilding the bikes this week to make Utah.

Over the course of 22 motos, Roczen has been the best rider. He deserves this and nobody can say he doesn't. Barring a miracle for Dungey next week, Roczen will become the 450 MX Champion as a rookie against a deep field. Very impressive.

Two observations about this thread.
One, there is no such thing as one or more lousy holeshots. A holeshots means you got a first place start.
Two, that picture shows roczen clearly roosting dunge on the start. What poor sportsmanship

Wish the reigning champ was out there. Actually scratch that it's exciting not knowing who's going to win every weekend.
