I think he will. I think this 450 ride he has ( possibly ) going on with TLD....is going to be a slight break through for him. Malcolm ended up on the ground quite a bit on the 250's....but I think "some" of that was because he was a little to big for the 250's and possibly was over riding it a bit? He had some strong rides these past few weeks in SX and I think this TLD 450 deal ( if it's happening ).....is going to be a good thing for the guy. I'll be rooting for him do good.....always seemed like a good kid , and he has a ton of skill.

Go Mookie!

Absolutely Not, He's Fast, but will barely break the Top 10 on a Good day. Just my Opinion, but those are the Facts. he's not as Fast as Tomac and you saw how he struggled riding the Big Bikes for 20 laps. Next Year, Maybe, we'll see

I agree with your assessment. Mookie seemed a little big for the 250. I am looking forward to him having a good outdoors. Hope he gets the TLD ride.

I am looking at this from a stand point of what a few other riders did once they stepped off the 250's and jumped onto the 450's. Josh Hill and Christian Craig come to mind. They both became totally different riders once they made that jump.

I don't know,.....call me crazy , but I think Malcolm ( if he can stay healthy ).....will have some good rides between 7th - 12th......with possibly a couple single moto top 5's? Maybe pushing it there a little......but I think we are going to see Malcolm as a different rider on the 450.

Seems like when anyone mentions James or Malcolm he's always quick to jump in and rag on them. Just my Opinion but those are the Facts.

being a bit larger than the average 250 riders out there,it makes sense to be on a 450.
hense, the reason i believe ,should be no 1 premier class out there. smaller pros on smaller cc and larger pros on larger cc .

Yeah! I was racist about Eli Tomac also when I predicted he would not be Top 5 in Supercross. Give me a Break idiot. Ain't afraid to come out and tell it like it is, the 450 will fit him better than the 250, but he still will struggle to get into the Top 10, He ain't no Bubba

Just my opinion, but those are the facts? Did you eat a lot of paint chips as a kid?
The kids fast, and will do well on the bigger bike.

James is way too big for that 250F. It is amazing that he has had the few good finishes he's had on that thing when it did not break under him... He is built for the 450. If he can keep it on two wheels, and his conditioning is where it needs to be he will do good.

"Just my opinion, but those are the facts."

Is it your opinion that the fact will be that Mookie won't be that fast on the 450 or are you simply stating as an opinion that some set of facts indicates that Mookie will struggle on the bigger bike? Sorry, but that's just not clear because your opinion cannot also be a fact.

Anywho, I personally don't think you're going to see anything spectacular out of him, at least not until the field is thinned out a bit by injuries, there are just too many good guys on 450s this summer.

He's a big dude....450 definitely will suit him better.
As to where he will specifically be fresh out of the gate in that class...I have no idea.
But be shouldn't have problem scoring points each moto as long as he keeps it on 2.
He is young and should continue to progress.
I think at his size it's a smart move.

I've always said Malcolm Stewart's career won't start until he gets on the 450. In amateurs he was incredible on the 450, and I think he will shine as a pro on one. Will he win or podium right out of the gate? Hell no, but he will be way better. You cannot run at the front of any class in 2013 with consistently getting mid pack starts, and those days will hopefully be over for Mookie.

I agree Dan. I think he'll start to shine on a 450. I think the 250 was holding him back some. I'm not thinking he'll be up front battling with his brother , RV , RD , ect......but I could see him bouncing around inside the top 10 if he's in shape. It may take him a few rounds to get into the swing of things.....but I think he'll be just fine. I think the guys at TLD are kind of thinking the same thing....otherwise they wouldn't of given him a shot.

He could be the surprise of the outdoor series. It is shaping up to be a barnburner this year.

Don't know why he wasn't on a 450 to begin with. I don't expect him to be a revelation, but it should certainly be an improvement. Possibly the groundwork for a breakout season next year?

I totally disagree. He is insane fast outdoors, but he has consistently rounded turn-one in 25th. When's the last time you saw a Mookie holeshot, or top-five start even? Never, at least not since 450s in amateurs. I think he will surprise a lot of fans this year. I'm rooting for him.

Yup!

As I said, else-where...

Top 10 at Hangtown evolving to Top 5 rather quickly.

He's needed Horsepower: he got it.

The top ten is stacked. I don't see him there very often, if at all.
5/11/2013 8:24pm
Watching him on Bubba's World I noticed he has a good sense of humor and likes to have fun.
The kid has charisma. I HOPE he does well.
Will we see him smiling on the podium? Doubt it.
Any sneak peak videos of him on the TLD 450 yet?

I think Jeffro is right...hes a big boy and those 250's are hard. I think just growing up racing those tracks at his compound will give him an edge like when he was smoking those big whoops that Eli couldnt nail....I do think though that his spotlight or success will most likely be indoors vs MX I really have nothing to base that on though

I would not be surprised that at the end of the series he is ahead of his brother
