I've got an '09 and looking to mount an hour meter.

Don't want to drill into the frame. What are some of the places you've used to mount one?

Would be good to be able to see it without taking anything off. Also somewhere that won't pack up with mud.

Get the Works Connection hour meter, use the Works Connection mounting bracket and mount it behind the number plate with the 8mm stock bolt.

I'm curious as well, I have 2006 YZ125 and have an hour meter I wanna mount....just doesn't seem like any great places to mount it. Thanks for posting this, hopefully someone has a good idea. I have both a wired and wireless mount, not sure which one I want to use. Peace

I just watched their little install vid. Might do that.

There's also a mount to attach it to the front gas tank bolt.
Or ya know, double sided tape behind the rad shroud.

I got a 1 inch wide piece of aluminum from Ace hardware, cut about 2 inches, shaped it a little bit and drilled 2 holes for the hour meter and a 3rd one to mount to the frame, I mounted where the cable guide is on the front left of the frame, used a little longer bolt. I gotta think it was only a few dollars total.

Having said that, I like that works connection mount too....

I have a 2011 yz250. I bought the wireless (protaper I think) hour meter and used the adhesive backing along with wire ties on the right frame close to the shock adjuster.

It doesn't look great but I was more worried about the meter picking up vibration.

Seems to being working well so far!

Moose sells the same mount for a few bucks cheaper. I used it on my YZF to mount the hour meter behind the number plate as above. Works perfectly.

Similar, i'll take a picture when I get home tonight. I mounted it on top of the clamps using the number plate bolt with a piece of 1/8" by 1" aluminum flat stock.

Made a bracket for mine. Attaches to the lower right radiator mount, visible through the shroud.

Here's how I did my 125's not sure if 250s are similar. I did some fabing of the bracket that holds the clutch line, etc. and used the WC bracket.

Mine is in the same spot. Made an "integrated" bracket.

the works connection meters are great with the mount. I also use the pro taper wireless ones as well with 3m red dbl back tape with no problems

Since we're talking about little add-ons, anyone use the Works Connection Fork Bleeder Valves?

Reliable? Any leaking issues ... or would that even matter since the whole purpose is to bleed out air.

Any other brands worth checking out?

Use 2 zip ties and mount it to the throttle cable by the cable guide. With zip ties....you can get very creative. You don't have to see the hours as you ride so tucking it away shouldn't be a big deal.

BTW....the new hour meter from Works Connection be the bomb yo (translation.....new hour meter from Works Connection is very nice).

I've used those on a previous bike without issue. I currently have the motion pro on my bike right now and no problem with them either.

My preference is the Works Connection.

Anything specifically wrong with the Motion Pro? They sit lower, a bit less $ and look better.

Just stuck on using the supplied sticky pad. Hasn't moved at all, and the meter has worked flawlessly.

Hardline and Works make brackets that hold them nicely. On our two strokes I take it and hide it in the airbox wrapped up in a plastic baggie!

Wow if you really want my stupid reasons, read below. Haha. There's nothing worth not buying one or the other.

In all honesty, it's my extremely trivial preference to use a socket rather than a flat head screwdriver to mount. Lol. I'm also retardedly OCD about screws. If the slots in the screws don't line up just the right way, I notice it. The spring felt stiffer on the Motion Pro, so maybe it seals better?

They both did the job they were designed to do.

My Motion Pro bleeders work great and come in Yamaha-blue.
I have had them so long I forget if they were easy to install.*

I did exact same but ran a zip tie around for added security.

Yup 2 zip ties, one on each end.

I actually really like this location, although it might take a little more abuse there.
