X Games 17 is set to feature EnduroCross
Extensive TV coverage and exposure for EnduroCross!

Irvine, Calif. (April 26, 2011) – The ESPN X Games has catapulted the popularity of action sports over the past 17 years and now the world’s top EnduroCross riders will get to showcase their talent on this amazing stage. X Games 17 will feature their version of “Enduro X” inside the Staples Center and the event will become part of the eight race series for the 2011 EnduroCross championship for the expert class. The top 20 riders from the 2010 EnduroCross championship will be invited to compete along with at least ten “Wild Card” entries from around the world. A separate women’s class will be open by invite only.

“We have been working with the ESPN staff for the past six years to make EnduroCross part of the X Games, so it is very exciting to make this a reality,” stated Eric Peronnard, the creator of EnduroCross. “Enduro X will showcase the amazing action and skills necessary to compete on such a challenging course to a whole new audience.”

ESPN, ESPN2 and ABC will combine to telecast 25 hours of live X Games 17 competition. In addition to the 25 original hours in high definition, the Worldwide Leader in Action Sports will also televise 18 hours of X Games action on ESPN 3D. More than 25 hours will also be distributed on ESPN3.com. Outside the United States, X Games 17 will be seen in more than 121 countries and territories to more than 106 million homes, including live telecasts in Africa, Asia, Australia, Brazil, Israel, Mexico, Middle East, New Zealand and South America.

Tickets for X Games 17 will be available for purchase June 23 at all Ticketmaster locations and the box office at STAPLES Center.

Hmm...it's a little disturbing that the X Games is punting Supercross. I guess it doesn't provide the excitement.
Maybe we need a boulder field or some telephone poles instead of a whoop section in Supercross.

YES ! Now we can see some sweet 2-strokes in competition instead of ear-drum splitting, farting tractors. Wink

Casual observers get bored watching Super-X.

Throw in huge piles of rocks, logs, and tire crossings with lots (LOTS) of crash potential? People will watch.

Yep, because its; jump, jump, jump, bowl turn. Jump, whoops, jump bowl turn. Jump, jump, fast-straight, jump bowl turn.

Repeat ad nauseum.

X-Games SX has always been one of the most painfully boring SX races in history. The track is always terrible, and very few big names show up... makes for a terrible show.

Endurocross is completely unpredictable and makes for a great show. Guys like Taddy Blazusiak are amazing to watch, and given the opportunity for wild card entries, I'm sure they will pull several top riders from the Indoor Enduro World Championships to join all the top riders from the AMA series. This depth of talent will help make for an exciting event, unlike the X-Games SX events.

I know that Endurocross is hard to understand for some of the "moto-only" guys out there. I've raced just about every kind of MX/offroad event over the years. Hands down, Endurocross is by far the most difficult, physically demanding thing I've ever done on two wheels. I have a huge amount of respect for those guys.

Yes we can. The X-Games have been irrelevant in skateboarding and BMX for years.

On a positive note, I wonder if this will force more riders to race the Nationals? Riding the X-Games was a good 'get out of jail' card for some of the guys.

Who the hell is espn and what the fuck do they have to do with motocross? xgames? Please. As a sport I would hope we have moved on from their 90's participation/abuse.

well, already rich from parents...even more rich because of dumbass twenty-something girls and MTV. and now engaged to an over-paid, over-weight, soft-ass NFL qb...I guess not such a bad lifestyle. at least Timmy Tebow didn't settle down with something, I mean someone from MTV. did this just happen or something, you been cheating on Vitalmx.com with TMZ.com?
