After watching what "Eli Tomac" did in Southwick,
Just maybe their second guessing themselves
for who should be racing the MX3 class?

Maybe they should have a 450f shootout in the sand
between "Barcia, Tomac, Stewart, Alessi, Tickle, Millsaps and Goerke"?

I think it was the right decision. Barcia was awesome on the 450 last year, much better than Alessi is this year. Barcia has been very consistent as well. He's almost as good of a starter as Alessi, can come through the pack better than Alessi, and has more support than Alessi. If Barcia does terrible these next few races then we should start talking about replacing him.

Tomac has never been on a 450 at that level at this point. Honestly I am not a fan of barcia, but he was the best choice of the riders available.

i think it was the right choice to justin has race proven 450 experience and has been better outdoors this year than he ever has before, that said i hope he has another bad day at the des nations and PR win lol not really i hope we have a good close race which goes to the wire to make it exciting.

Tomac is awesome but he's been a little bit more hit and miss than Barcia this year. Justin didn't have a great Southwick this time but he's nailed it on every other occasion. So between two riders who both like the sand equally I think you have to go on overall performances.

Obviously America expects to win but even if you sent RV, RD and JS things can go wrong. However putting aside freak occurrences, I honestly believe that Barcia, Baggett and of course Dungey is the best team possibly this year with the riders available. On paper you "should" be OK for the overall victory.

He raced it at Monster cup last year and got 4th I believe betting Alessi in both mains if I remember right.
Also a few vids floating around of him riding one I believe, he looks very good on them.
BUT, I stand behind the choice of Barcia as we haven't seen Eli on one on a real outdoor track, which is what I think you meant Wink

Justin was the right pick for this. As stated above he has experience on a 450, has demonstrated great consistency outdoors this year, is about to step up to the 450's full time and has factory Honda support. We need to quit debating and get behind the team at this point because they will have their work cut out for them this at
years venue!

Per John Tomac, they ride 450's more at their ranch than 250's.

Everyone says that Barcia has killed it at Southwick every year but this year. I thought I remember his bike breaking while he was mid pack last year at Southwick on the 450. I'm definitely not a Barcia fan and am a huge ET supporter but Barcia has definitely straightened up the consistency this year.

I think we're going to see ET start beating Baggett regularly. He KILLED Baggett at Freestone this year and was on a mission at Southwick. I think he has every bit of natural talent as Baggett and seems to have Dungey's work ethic and KRoc's passion for fun.

He was in 3rd when his bike broke last year.

Barcia was the right choice. He is proven on the 450, and he is a good starter (average start of 3.6 on the 450 last year, 4.8 this year)

Why did you put "Eli Tomac" in quotes?

Barcia is the best choice, and has race the 450 in the US and been at the front. He is also good in sand. Also MX3 isn't as competitive as MX1 so he should win the class. USA should win the team part easy enough.

Individually it will be harder but all three will be up there.

For the people sayin barcia has done more than Alessi in the 450 class... That's straight bullshit.

Alessi deserves the ride. It's ashame the big wigs at honda probably had somethin to do with that.

Makes me more of an 800 fan. I feel for him.

GL with the rest of the season Aleesis. Hopefully we'll see ya get an overall! Cool

Touche!

I just don't like Barcia. Maybe I was wishing he was mid pack.

Yeah, please explain the "quotes" thing.

And, Tomac rides a 450 at home because at their 8,000ish feet of elevation it feels more like his race 250 at normal elevations.

The des Nations is not high on Honda's agenda.

Pffft... you don't know anything. It's not like your son rides a factory Honda or anything.

Looking back at Blake Baggett's performance at last years MXDN I think he is the wrong choice. I think Tomac and Barcia already being team mates would be a better choice.

I'm a Geico Honda fan, and would love to see Barcia and Tomac on the team, but I think Blakes performance at the last MXoN was a fluke. I also think he has stepped up his game this year. I wish he could pull some better starts, but I don't see the MXoN motos playing out a whole lot different than the 250 nationals so far this year. Baggett's going to do just fine.

Hard to say. Barcia seemed to fade on the 450 last year, but he seems a lot stronger this year. They are both pretty young so you never know. I'd say that we are the underdog this year though. That's just MHO.

X2. You mean when the 250f rider who just moved up to a 450 couldnt keep up with the blistering pace of RV and Dungey? I dont know if that's fading
