In MY opinion, there are a few atheletes that excell because they work harder rather than having more talent....

#1 RC4 - has anyone worked harder than him?
#2 Bob Hannah - the guy who set the standard for those to follow...
#3 Walter Payton - he out worked everyone for his position
#4 Tim Tebow - he's outworking every QB in the league. He's not there yet, but I'm sure he will be based on his behind the scene work...

Read this about Tebow// http://sports.yahoo.com/nfl/news;_ylt=AvPnFJHjLx7K4RyInGT01jhDubYF?slug…

Who else has "out worked" the competition?

I think Mark Barnett was a work horse for his certain era along with Wardy and Jonny O'. All were known to push it that extra mile to help out their racing.

Road racing .......Rossi as well.

Yep, the "classic" champions lead the way. Is the same effort being made today?

People always say that about RC, but that kid had/has a ton of talent. That's just MHO.

I would say throw Jeff Ward in there.

I disagree... RC4 had to work harder than MC and all the others. He didn't have the talent of MC, Tortelli, etc, but he outworked them.

I agree, JW was a die hard trainer and deserves to be on the list...

How do people forget RC before the 250 SX class??? He was THE kid in the Am.'s and in the 125 class and he was chubby then. Not to mention that he was bust'n guys ass outdoors in the 250 class from the start..........when he was chubby. He had to work hard at SX, but he had a ton of talent.

because they all focused on the task at hand instead of trying to change the rules

Tebow is on his way to being a top QB? Better stick to moto.

While I agree Jordan worked as hard if not harder than anybody else, he had a tremendous amount of talent as well. He still would have been a "good" player in the league without working as hard instead of being arguably the greatest.

Larry Bird probably wouldn't have been in the league without working harder than almost everyone. There's certainly other's out there too, but just throwing his name in the mix.

I dont care what that link says, when it comes to qbs no one works harder than Payton Manning. As for moto "the rock" comes to mind.

EF makes some pretty good threads man. The 2 stroke vs 4 stroke stuff gets old.......but some of his threads are pretty entertaining. You know he loves the sport......which is more than I can say about a lot of the other members here. Seems a lot of them just like to stir the pot , and could care less about the sport really.

Damn...not a single mention of DB? I would put him on that list right behind RC. He and O'show raised the bar to another level IMO.

yea because Tom Brady didn't work hard...ridiculous topic.....everyone who gets to the pinnacle of their sport has worked hard at some point to get there.....hard work only gets you so far. The streets are littered with guys who worked their asses off but never got to the professional level in their respective sports because they just didn't have the talent....On the flip side, there are also the guys who had a lot of talent who never worked hard enough. It's a symbiotic relationship and the majority of the Elite have it figured out....in all sports
