Pretty sure Steve Matthes was the one who brought it up. He needs a break, raced every series since starting on the 450 (missed 2 sx's last year). Getting married? Wasn't appreciative of the way he was treated when they lost last time.....

Yeah so apparently Barcia is out for the season. He could still make it back for Nations but that'd be tough to choose a guy who hasn't raced all summer. I'd go with Trey Canard or James even though I know Roger's ego would never pick James. If we lose again I think it's time to replace DeCoster as US Manager.

If RD doesn't go......as it sits right now James , Trey and Martin would make a great team. I think Webb would be a great alternate in case JM19 couldn't make it.

If he doesn't go i wouldn't blame him one bit. In my opinion this race has lost some of its luster to US based riders. Not just because the US has got their asses handed to them, but its at the end of a very long season. Lately its been what 3 weeks after the national end,so they have to stay sharp for another month. With the amount of races already on the schedule, and the training throughout the year that goes with it, this race has lost its importance imo.
Maybe every year is to much? Make it every two or three years. I know the nostalgia folk will get a hard on about it, but The race simply doesn't fit in the US schedule anymore imo.

Why is Decoster the manager anyways? He's not American and a bunch of other guys could do the same job... Kinda stupid if the team manager's personal preference ruins a country's effort.

If we can't send RV or RD It's a waste for us to go. What's the point if you don't have your best dogs in the fight. Lots of money time and effort to throw at a second or third place trophy again. I know some countries would love to be on the podium and be very proud. But that's not us. We are expected to win. And when we don't we get shit on. So send the best or don't waste the time in my opinion.

We have nothing to lose, send Stewart MX1, Martin MX2, Canard MX3. Honestly I'd rather send them than Dungey, seems like the dunge has been choking lately at the Des nations. Trey and James know how to get it done there. Btw I'm not saying Dungey can't perform there, he's just seemed uninspired the past few years.

Boo fucking hoo.

What a piss poor attitude, is that what you teach your kids - if you can't win don't bother playing?

Not to mention what it says to the guys like Canard who would probably love to represent their country.

Have some patriotism guys, holy crap. The des nations is the best race of the year and win or lose we need to send a team. I can't believe you consider Martin, Canard, and James Stewart not good enough to send!? Are you fishing for arguments or honestly that bad at being patriotic? It doesn't matter who we send, as long as we show heart and put our best foot forward and the real fans will be proud, 1st or 5th.

I'd guess that the majority of riders that attend the MXdN end up out of pocket to some extent. They do it for the love of racing and a chance to represent their country.

They should suck it up and go, and approach it the same way most other countries do - with a sense of pride, and the knowledge that they probably won't win, but if things go their way they may land a podium spot, and most importantly to have fun.

It's not a local race man. They spend a shit ton to go. Lots of people involved and shit to go over seas and not be able to send our best. I am sure canard and plenty others would do us proud.

Our B team is still good enough to dominate the MXDN, we've shown that before.

I think some of us are under estimating our riders ,I have had a broken back incomplete parapalegic, broken leg , several other injuries and I still love to ride and the desire to compete is still there , look at the desires of our US riders yes its the way they make their living look at Canard's s injuries look at all the riders injuries, our top 10 or even top 15 riders have the desire and will to win ,Look at Jeramy Martin season's in sx and look at where he is at now nothing in life is perfect but as Americans first and foremost we never ever give up even if we know we may get our butts kicked we give it every thing we got how many times have I/we ever been knocked down and we get back up , that is what makes us great as a nation , great as people and great a riders we do our best and we give it every things we have in preparing for what lies ahead of us and if we don't get the results we want we are even more prepared the next time

Yeah no shit, no-one travels further to the MXdN than local Aussie or Kiwi riders. If Australia or New Zealand or a dozen other small countries can scrape together the money then the US should be able to.

IF Decoster doesnt take Stewart, who's left then (given he doesnt take a 250 guy like anderson for a 450 spot)?
I mean obvisouly besides Canard and a 250 rider for the first 2 spots
Grant, Alessi, M-Stewart, Weimer, Short or Peick?
How awesome that would be for Peick. I'd probably go with Short

I think Team USA will get it done this year, the track should suit the AMA riders imo. If Dungey won't go then the best team as of now is easily Canard, Stewart and Martin. Failing that, there are other riders good enough for a consistent result (which is all you need really - not spectacular moto wins) in the 250f ranks like Baggett and Seely who could also step up to a 450 if necessary. Webb is a good backup 250f choice if Martin can't go.
