They race as a team. If the team had done everything right and then Kroc threw it away in the last turn would they still get their bonus? Again, No.

P.S. The team did everything right in this case. What we just witnessed what happens when the air fork loses its pressure. Dungy suffered the same fate with the air shock a few years back during a race. With spring forks if you lose a fork seal you can still manage. But when the air fork loses its ability to retain air pressure you are done. And that cost Kenny 6 figures today. And even more important to him I'd bet, just beating the crap out of every one twice.

The team took the blame to save face for Zook's air forks. Many of the guys do not want to race with them. Many have gone back to spring forks. Most report that they just like the springs better. And probably so. But today illustrates another important reason.
