Why dont they do supercross in motocross format?

I brought this idea up a little while ago. No one seemed to like it very much.

It´s because sx is a simple sport. Everything about it should be easy on the spectator. Thinking and standing up are no-goes, and having to add two motos together and make out an overall score is just too much. SX is the NASCAR of dirt bike racing

Why is the two-moto format such a hallowed topic? I think they should run one 90 minute race and let the strongest man win.

they did that with the gp's as well somewhere around 2003 everts kind of spit in their face by winning 125,250, and 500 on one day
