Don't let off right before entering them, Stewart doesn't. If your afraid, build a set of whoops that are smaller and practice entering full speed until comfortable. Then slowly start to build them up and repeat. Your ego won't take such a beating next year. Disclaimer: when whoops get rough, do not copy Stewart's crash technique after said whoop enter speed.

Yes, I'm sure the other pros need somebody on a forum telling them how to practice for the whoops...

Ya know....the all ARE copying him to the best of their ability in many respects. Ever hear of the bubba scrub?

Also....ever see it all go wrong for Bubba? Therein lies your answer!!

I actually am doing that right now. Just because it has to be that easy. Got the section in behind my house. Now fourth gear wide open here I come.

There is under 10 people on this planet right now that could hit that set of whoops as fast as he did with dungey pushing him.

You have to have balls the size of watermelons and the skills of js7/tp199 etc. to hit a gnarly set of whoops as fast as they do without fucking killing yourself.

...because that's what James does. Huge risk, huge reward and sometimes a huge crash. Glad to see he hasn't lost it

Not the fastest? Who's taking him in outright speed/talent? No one.

He's got a cool, calm and collected presence about him in his return. Hope his time off helped him focus on consistency so he can finish out his last years completing full seasons. The speed is still there to cover the field on any given night.

I don't agree with your last sentance. I think those days are over, there might be 4 or 5 nights where's he's a little bit better and maybe 1 or 2 where he's head and shoulders above all of them. But the days of him being 2 seconds a lap faster every weekend are over.

He's been calm and cool in his 4 minutes of competition on a track 100% suited to his talents.. Let's see how the first 4 rounds go

I'm copying Bubba tomorrow at my local track. Looks easy. Might talk to the track paramedic first and up my life insurance a bit but....looks easy.

I won't bash you. But I am curious if you ever ridden (or rolled) a real sx track with whoops? I think Watson said it best one day. "It's like having a guy pointing a shotgun at your knee and then you try to sink a 30 yard put on the green but if you miss..... the guy pulls the trigger." Probably the same kinda feeling on the front end of that decision.

I am sure if that Pastrami guy was there he could have copied James, he looks like he would be fast on a easy straight line track.
