I don't know why, but this seems a bit retarded. It kinda reminds me of that scene in gladiator. I think my biggest beef with sidecar racing is that the second person doesn't serve any purpose except to be a second person. Also, motocross is an individual sport. This is like a second dimension of 4 wheeler racing.

I would guess as with most Motorsport it started as a way for guys that used two wheels with a side car during ww2 for a daily driver to show who was the most skilled side car driver riders. I always said I wouldn't mind driving but the monkey needs to be someone else.
