"The Diesel."

I liked the piece on Dungey, too. I wish they would do more of that with different riders, top guys and privateers, instead of the stupid twitter pics and hashtagsxonfox crap. How many bikes in living rooms and people in pick-up kits do we need to see? It's getting very redundant.

Agreed. Very redundant. As is the build up of the drama and conflict.

Yeah I find it funny how the Reed/Canard incident was frowned upon last week, but then this week it was used as a marketing strategy, with the entire broadcast talking about aggressiveness, conflict, etc.

I would like to take this opportunity to address Mrs. Ryan Dungey.

Judging by your video segment during the race Saturday, you'll probably read this.

Please, PLEASE don't lump us all in with these heathens. We're generally a good natured bunch. Tell Ryan to keep up the good work.

Dungey is a motocross machine. He is doing the right thing by tuning out the haters and not engaging. It just ends up wasting a whole bunch of emotional energy in a negative way. He spends that energy the right way-in his training.

Similar in terms of consistent results and work ethic. Dungey has a much more fluid style IMO, and Stanton was more aggressive through the pack.

Classic Dungey - always lurking the background ready to take advantage! Personally I can’t see him holding that red plate for too long, but as always he’ll be hovering at the top as the season progresses.

You can never count out Dungey, he is always there.

I still have Kroc for this years title, but Dungey will be there right until Vegas no doubt and is every chance to take this title.

You know I used to think this. Stanton was never the fastest guy but he was consistent and won the title in both 90 and 92 when there were clearly faster guys in the field. But Stanton was way more of a clutch rider than Dungey. Dungey will hang around until the end but when there is a race he has to win, he will finish 3rd like he has most of the year. Stanton's LA Coliseum race in 92 was as clutch as it gets. Also he single handily won the MXDN a couple times on his own. Things were looking highly doubtful but Stanton ripped through the pack to get into a position to clinch the title for the US. Dungey has been lackluster to say the least in the last few MXDN.

This last weekend's race should have been won by RD. When Roczen crashed, Dungey was in 2nd or 3rd with Short and Reed in front on him. Reed saw the opportunity with KR going down. I was hoping RD would get into the lead and pull away. Instead Reed gaps Dungey and Canard gaps them both. I know Dungey finished 2nd but that is because a Reed went off the track. He was actually opening up his lead over Dungey prior to that.

There are too many times were the win is there for the taking but RD doesn't pull the trigger. Those points kill him eventually. Since his title on 2010, he has only finished 2nd once which was last year.

Dianna Dahlgren is hot but damn, I'm just pissed off every time she's on the broadcast anymore. I get so tired of the Twitter crap. Let her do some interviews with the riders.

As for Dungey, I was looking at the names of guys that, statistically speaking, have a shot at beating him in the championship, and it's tough to say that he will be out of the top two. Crazy that KR didn't score any points and is 5 points back in second still. . . KR still has the greatest chance of beating him but that crash might have some lagging effects. We'll see next week.

Agreed, the whole "social media corner" is very monotonous. It seems almost degrading having Diana stand there and reel off a bunch of twitter statuses that have no relevance to the race itself. I’d have Diana doing the “pre-race report” segment, seeing as she’s already down there anyway, and just have Jenny doing podium interviews.

Does anyone know what SX gets from having the twitter crap? Do they get a check from twitter or does it drive new traffic to the sport? I hate to think that my post is short sighted, but I could absolutely care less how any other fan is watching the TV. It was mildly funny the first time someone pulled the dirt bike in the house to watch the race. . . Everyone after, just stupid.

I don't know that he did specifically, I was just paraphrasing what he said the best I could remember. I guess he could have been talking about his boss or even his trainer, I just figure that since collectively we know everything about moto here at Vital, he must have been talking about us... Right???

P.S. Hi Mrs. Dungey
