Still runs perfect is and is a ton of fun to ride, good exercise too.
Ride mostly at Folsom lake.
I don't read any forums on watercraft.

So it's quite an adventure to get to the surf from where you are? Couple of hours?

Very far. About 6-7 hours from Sacramento.

Folsom lake is all down south.

The owner of the shop I work at is a stand up racer. Hit him up @AJ_LUINSTRA. He seems to know all of the hot spots. He's flying to some deal in Phoenix this weekend.

We raced here in Texas for years, I raced an 06 SXR 800, and a 11 SXR 800 that I sold last year. The racing series that went down here in Texas died and 3 Palms sold their lake to a Wake Board park. No places to ride and race made most of our riders sell.

This was my "stock" "800" SXR I used to race.

The "ride" was to race from Alameda to San Francisco, through the bay. Yes, it's basically a Red Bull Straight rhythm, the whole way. We had to have someone on the other side with gas so we could get back.

2014 yamaha superjet - style to match my yz250

Ride on the Wisconsin River

Just started riding this past summer, but my brother and I are at least decent on it.
Not on any forums. Just bring it out to play when we take the boat out.

My cousin rides 750 sxi out in the ocean off Maui. He took me out once, second time i ever rode a standup, i was not prepared for that thrashing, holy shit. Need some training in smoother water first.

I ride an X2 and love it. I still have the 650 though I will be putting a 750 in it this winter. We have a great group that rides on Fridays. Sometimes just a local river that yachts past through and other times on lake Michigan. Just depends on the wind! I prefer the early 90's X2's over the stand ups just because it feels more like a moto bike.

93 wave blaster , riva ride plate, riva grate, rive pipe, flame arresters, modded cdi, bars, etc. not a stand up, but closest thing to a dirt bike on the water. I'm in the process of finding a superjet hull for the spare motor setup I have.

Trying to find a nice superjet. Everyone wants w fortune. Will probably have to buy a new one.

Currently got a nice seadoo xp. Found it in a barn. Maybe had 2 hours on it. 1996, battery terminal was bad. That's it. She screams now.

Just got into it last year, I didn't touch my bike for months after buying my first stand up, it's that much fun!

I have 2 1996 Blasters that my son and I ride. We go to Oceanside CA and go north onto the marine base. The surf is awesome there and we never get hassled. Big fun especially I get to school my boy!

Do not buy a new one. Buy one already set up, even if it is a bit pricey. SJ's are absolute dogs in stock form...let someone else put in the coin to make it fun.

60 Lbs.? That's huge!! I think the the factory lid probably weighs about 30-40 lbs.
There's not much of a stand up market here to pick from since CA doesn't allow
new sales anymore. My daughter wanted a ski and I looked for months before I
found one out of state that I bought her, an 800SXR, It was supposed to be stock but
not so much. A few months back I installed a copper gasket under the head to bring
down the compression. We haven't had it out yet since so still need to test and see.
Even in stock trim it"s a lot of ski for a 115 lb girl.

That was my old stomping grounds back in the day. We actually started out launching at Carlsbad by warm water jetty.
People didn't know what JetSkis were back then. After a few seasons the guys up north heard we were riding the surf and started to come down and the life guards started closing the beaches to us because the out of towners kept getting to close to the swimmers. So we moved north to riding off Camp Pendleton. That was back 79-80 we were riding JS440s at the time. Would like to get a newer SuperJet this coming year. Jetski in the surf, it doesn't get much better.
