I get this odd sensation when I read Vital these days- it's just like mototalk a few years back.

I was there as DirtDog for a minute, but it wasn't really worth it.

Fess up? Really enjoyed participating on Mototalk from 2000 on until it faded away. It was a great board. What it used to offer that no board did passed awhile ago. Like it or not, that had much to do with what Bruhn brought to the table, and other content providers leapfrogged that IMO. Can't turn back the clock on that. There are a handful of people there who don't participate anywhere else that I miss interacting with, but it just doesn't have critical mass to make it worth investing a lot of time getting involved. Boards already take up too much time.
But anywhere people can get together and share their love of moto is a good place. The board wars, whether MT v. Fresh Dirt and the evolutions to Motodrive and now Vital, are a bunch of horseshit an always have been.

I had a good time there too, somehow slipped through the cracks and never had to pay for like 3 or 4 years. Then TFS was at a race and sent me a PM and i guess it went through Hutchs account and he saw it, asked me to pls renew my account but i never did.

I was there for a while. CRstar or something like that. Back then I entered the board thru LCS Racings site. A pic of Micheal Brandes was the link you clicked to get in.

Ten Yrs. ago, Bushwood was a great place to hang out.
Physics of the seat-bounce, can an airplane take off on a conveyor belt?, national anthem /prayers before races, 9/11-Iraq, blah, blah blah. Lots of fun. Teefus was fun for a while, and I really respect what he did to get things moving, even if it got a little ugly after he burned-out.
This place seems more democratic.

I was there from the beginning . I just started reading the Vital board this year. Mototalk used to be awesome but if you post there now it is like shouting in an empty theater. Pretty much a bummer.

I was myself on MT and MD , and fresh dirt back in the day. I think i went by the name VDR-KAW503........since it was my old MCM2 racing name , and just carried it over.
God damn.....MCM2 days.....those nights were something I'll never forget! Never played a racing game again that matched those 400+ racers at the zone , tearing it up until dawn!

I have to admit sadly that I have been on these forums daily since Fresh Dirt but never really went there. I jones for moto info and no one in my town seems to know anything about it so there is no one to share my passion for the sport with except my buddy i have been riding with for 20 years but he could not name ten pro riders of this era. He just loves to ride but has not followed the racing in years. I breathe this stuff since birth.

Mototalk was awesome when it was busy, after the Tfs meltdown it got boring and I migrated over here
The gas card, sponsoring dowd for a race and some of the other things that went on made you feel more connected with the sport even from the other side if the world
I met some awesome people from that board, some I still keep in touch with today

I was there posting under a different user name at the time. Met up with a bunch of you guys at a few GP´s and the 2006 MXDN´s. I had a great time, but then I decided to take a break, and by the time I came back mototalk and TFS was gone. I did enjoy the seat-bounce and his "HGH-diet" topics though
There are a few regulars who´ve disappeared though. SlaveO, 309, knobby.... Anyone know what they are up to? Marc De Reuver used to have some funny things to say before and after the 2005 GP at Desert Martin when he waved on Alessi. Good times

Another ex-pat.
MT was fun, and for a while way ahead of the curve- especially with content provided by TFS, Scavo, and video clips from BobbyM's poolsupplies server.
My best takeaway from there was when I ended up hosting David "ayearinmx" Bulmer for a night on his cross-country tour.

I spent several years on mototalk, the Dowd sponsorship was one of the coolest things ever to be involved with.

SlaveO works for Monster Energy in Germany now. I catch up with him every time I see him at the GP's. Still a crazy mofo and living Monster Energy style.
By 309 you mean 409 / Roddy MacCleod. He moved from Germany to the States a few years back and lives in NC. Unfortunately he doesn't shoot much moto anymore.
Knobby is still around and kicking and on this board too.

Freshdirt, then MotoTalk. Someone says they remember me from the Motoworld board days, but I can't remember that far back!
My board-buddy dougie kept trying to get me to join a new rouge board called Motodrive.
It seemed like a wild place compared to MT, so I resisted joining for quite a while.
I have always been "Highsider".
