Hey guys,

I'm looking forward to buy a new 250 4T. I rode the CRF250 2011 last year and it felt good but I wasn't really fast. I'm 1.82m = 5' 12 tall. I have never ridden a Yamaha before. The CRF250 is a 2015 and the YZ250F is a 2014. Are there any problems with the YZ250F known? The Honda would cost 5250€ = 5720$ and the Yamaha 6700€ = 7300$.

Big price difference. I'd get the Honda and use that extra money to do the suspension, single exhaust and a cam.

Yeah as a Yamaha owner I can say it's an amazing bike, but when you put it that way that sounds like a good idea.

I really love the feeling of the Honda bike and the ergonomics. However the motor is falling behind in both the 250 and 450 classes out of the box.

If you were 5 foot 13 I would recommend the KTM. But being only 5 foot 12 go with the Yamaha

Truth. I'm 5'14 myself, so the Yamaha was a little too small for me. OP only being 5'12 he should be fine on Blue.

Honda - not as fast as the Yammy motor wise but not the least powerful 250, the suspension is pretty damn good but not quite as good as the Yammies, handling wise its a bit of a toss up. But because you are getting a big price difference between the two then yes you could easily spend the difference and get a better bike than the stock yammie.

Height wise both cockpits should be ok for you, especially if you have felt ok on the Honda in 2010.

Agreed for the price difference get the honda. I love everything about the Yamaha except the fat ergonomics. The honda can be made every bit as good with the extra cash.

Go yamaha, it's the best off the showroom floor, and of top bikes in the 250 class. Also yamaha is the most bullet proof bike in the class.
Yamaha
Strong engine
Best suspension
Durability
Kinda wide
Unusual to work on with backwards engine
I've heard the yamaha isn't the sharpest turner but it is stable and doesn't do anything wrong
Honda
Light
Narrow
Sharp turning but suffers from head shake
Air forks are a pain

The honda is cheaper so you can put that money into getting the engine and suspension on par with yamaha, but if you do that you could be risking durability

In my opinion go yamaha
But honda and suzuki are on my do not but list

Read the 5 pager YZ250F Problems thread in the Race Shop forum and make an informed decision.

The new Yamahas are amazing. I'm a little bias as I've ridden Yamahas my whole life but I truly believe they are the best bike. Bullet proof engine as well. The last 250f I had was 150+ hours with 1 rebuild.

Yeah I would buy a KTM but they want nearly 10000$ for the new SXF250. That is to much...

15 yz f seem to be good , but 14 s had alot lot of engine problems , as said by someone else go look up the thread on it . Yam is def the best performance bike . Especially because u don't have to deal with air forks, the Honda is the most built prof 250 imo , turns well and very light
