Going to Washougal and wondering if anyone has any thoughts on where to stay to be in a nice hotel near whatever nightlife Portland has? I like frosty IPA's in pubs, pretty girls, and fun.

Also wouldn't mind being close to whatever freeway goes to Washougal if possible?

Bars & Pubs to hit?

Thanks!

Never been there but Jupiter Hotel would be a good choice for all that including close to I-84 and if it's not your scene downtown is walking distance/cheap Uber.
Closest Hotel to Union Jacks (must see) also!

Downtown at hotel Monaco or embassy suites. Close to Chinatown where most clubs and bars are. Also a brew festival going on same weekend.

Yeah.........X2. Never been there either, but.............
I've got family that live Northeast of Camas, WA. They make it a point every other year to leave the area around the time of the National, because it's absolute chaos.
From what I've been told, it really isn't off of or near a freeway. You turn off of 2-lane Highway 14 East of Washougal. Once you turn off onto Washougal River Road, it is all 2-lane and even slower traffic.
Is camping out an option?

Wherever you stay plan on an early wake up and long/slow drive.

all the teams and riders used to stay in East Vancouver on Millplain blvd I think. If you go to Portland you will have a bit of a drive to the track and the river road gets ugly. If you are looking for Oregon nude bars you can just stay by the airport.
I was just there last wknd and the highways are very improved

The Jupiter Motel. Its on the east side of the river, a little more rugged, go to Sassy's strip club for sure. There's tons of interesting bars on that side for a Friday night too. We did that combo for a friend's 21st and it was a blast, from what I remember. But please note, you HAVE to get a bloody Mary from the restaurant in the morning, it's award winning.

Outside Acropolis. Jk. But you should go there.

You could stay right across the river from Portland in Vancouver. Hilton or Marriott.

Downtownish Portland you could stay near Motocorsa the Ducati Dealership at a Holiday Inn. Then you're within walking distance of all of 23rd street which has some good places to eat/drink. You're also close to merging onto 405/I-5.

If you want to stay in the couve..the Hilton DT is decent...its easy to get to HWY 14.

If you want to stay on the Island right across the bridge from HWY14...there's this Red Lion right on the river.
There's bars on the Island,it's close to PIR etc..

I recommend The Benson if you want to stay in DT PDX in the thick of the city.

This place is decent if you like a Resort atmosphere.
They have golf and its out of the city up past Washougal down HWY14.

There's also plenty of Hotels by the PDX airport.
Washougal is right across i-205 then take 14East etc...it's not a bad drive to the track (down the river road up to bear prarie).

What about a place to stay with wife and kids. We'll be in the area that weekend and I plan on trying to catch the race.

buy a tent. camp at the track. the line to get in saturday is stupid long and slow, and to me washougal wouldn't be the same without waking up early race day and walking from camp up to watch practice. this is my 20th year straight camping at the national since i was a kid

There's a great little Mexican joint called Santeria that's connected to one of the coolest little bars. It's definitely worth checking out.

Youve got to be joking? With the huge number of stripclubs in Portland, Mary's is near the very bottom of the list. To the OP, downtown Portland offers you more pubs and brew houses than you could possibly go to in a week, however I personally like the area around Alberta st.
