Where is Stroupe??

10/6/2012 10:30 AM

The kid has lots of speed ... but is not on anybody radar right now..
did he quit ? did he got hurt ?

10/6/2012 10:46 AM

Now here's a topic that's likely to go downhill quickly....

10/6/2012 11:20 AM

Good question.....

10/6/2012 11:22 AM

It is a good question. The guy has skill but it seems like somewhere early in his pro career his head got off the track. Maybe he's burned out...

Chilling with jlaw

Gee.. didn't expect that response.

He should have hitched a ride with Hobo Nick, might have given him the perspective to turn his career...life?...around.

10/6/2012 12:30 PM

What a shame. He has (or had) speed in spades. At least Nico seems to be turning a new leaf.

Good point.

wasnt this kid a PC rider at one point?

For two years, straight out of the Ams. Flashes of brilliance but ultimately dropped out due to "mono" towards the end.

you mean had...by the time most people realize the lost opportunities they had it is too late.

Have a buddy that was offered a scholarship for D II Baseball at the local college turned it down, because he didnt want to go to college/didnt think he was smart enough. (Really he just didnt try). Before that he was kicked off the football team in high school for bad grades and a bad attitude, he just didnt care in school. Hard worker, good athlete, no doubt in my mind he coulda played D I or D II football, as a quarterback. Right now he is the "night crew leader" at a Giant Grocery store, still hard worker, but he told me he hates his job.

He told me he wishes he had gone to school, still could, he is young (21 or 22), but coulda had fun going to school playing football or baseball.

Newer to late, kid need self esteem. I was a drop out, but managed a decent career, still felt unsatisfied, decided to go all gusto and started medschool at the age 32, best choice in my life (lost tons of cash, but whatever).

He needs a 12 stepper first....

Kid was shredding this time last year in the all videos of him riding that factory 450. I picked him in our SX pool and needless to say he didn't really even race at all. I would love to see him turn it around, shit if that ass hat Izzi can do it then anyone have do it!

Hope he is well.

10/6/2012 5:03 PM

I was told last week that he is working for his dad and might be done with moto. I hope not but that came from a good source.

10/6/2012 8:32 PM

Very talented rider would love to see him back out there. He's still young enough

Racing motocross since 1996

10/6/2012 8:36 PM

I was just wondering the same thing the other day.. Grew up racing with him and he always had the speed to hang with anybody. Rides a little on the edge but a fun style to watch. Hope he gets his career back on track.

Seems to be sorting some stuff out. He's a complex character, I know that. And amazingly talented on a motorcycle.

That crash almost seemed to be the top of a downslide.

Good eye. He was out there in lucky 13th position. However I think he was a Honda guy back then. That was probably Durham doing the dirty deed.

Oh, with addiction if that's the case, one needs to start there for sure, when in some sort of balance work with the reason why addiction got started in the first way. Dunno the stats, but often the willpower isn't enough. Crazy thing human brain, so complex, while so primitive.

After his long string of injuries last year Star/Valli dropped him. Since then I haven't heard of him pursuing anything or the other way around. Unless he comes out on his own bike I think we've seen the last of Stroupe.

It looks as though you know nothing fro your statement. This subject was addressed months ago. Stoupe is doing well in the restaurant industry with his Father in North Carolina. When he broke his back at Pala during practice I think he realized how important it was for life without being in a chair? As far as Nico being an asshat? Your an idiot! Apparently you don't know much about the life and what goes on with these riders growing up?

Glad hes doing good and working with his father. Some of these guys get burned out after so many years of racing and especially injuries. This a tough sport for sure, kudos to him. Love how guys like bigdaddyG are such experts and kow it all.
