Well, Monster Cup he threw it away during the second "main". If history repeats, this weekend should do it.

I'm hoping for an issue (where he DNF's or DNS's a race...not injured just give up 25 points) of some sort prior to the half way point in the season (if it happens after that he'll be so far ahead that it won't make much of a difference to his competition). But I think he'll run away with it prior to then...and I'll be glad for the issue because it will tighten the points back up, and throw a wrinkle into is confidence so the other guys will maybe stand a chance.

And then he went back out at won the third main? Your statement is irrelevant.

I assume all the riders will have a bad night or two (including RD). However, in my head, "throw it away" means to have lost a chance at the title. So my guess would be toward the end of the season. Let's say sometime around Seattle or maybe STL.

I'd rather see him raced really hard and not see him have any of those 2015 moments return.

While we're here: seems to me we saw the most aggressive A1 ride we've ever seen outta RD1 last Saturday.

A Kenny run-a-way?

We'll see

I was hoping he had no e start, and tipped and took forever to restart. But now the honda has a cheater button.

Not sure he will throw it away but he wilk have some bad luck sooner or later

Dungey will throw it away before Roczen..
RD5 don't like riding out of his comfort zone and Roczen will push him well past that.

That's interesting. RV pushed RD out of his comfort zone quite regularly and I didn't see him crack too much over the years.

I doubt Roczen will throw it away riding at 80% without pressure. On the other hand, it won't surprise me each time one of his competitors (I use that term loosely) throw it away racing at 100% while trying to catch him!

Yup

Flavor of the week: then, as soon as RD wins..."3 in a row! Done!" will be the mega-thread subject.

Me?
I think Eli's got more in the tank.
Marvin, too.
What happens when Jason learns to not blink when the gate drops?

Why do we all assume he will throw it away? RV2 won 4 straight against RD so why can't Kenny win one against him? He didn't throw it away outdoors...

I actually picked him to win again this weekend but have Eli and MM as 2nd and 3rd...personally I think Roczen has matured a lot as a rider and I highly doubt he will "throw it away" like some would like him to

Ain't gonna happen. If he looses the title, I don't think it'll be from wadding it up.

Other than a mechanical, (or #5) I wouldn't bet against this kid. Riding a VERY confident Honda.

The main - if not only - difference last year was that Roczen struggled with his starts while Dungey started inside the top five in just about every main event.

It will have to be an outside influence, taken out at the start, held up by lapper, mechanical.

I am no fan of Kroc but he had the shit dialed up at A1.

Kenny is using the Arvee method, bust out a start and sprint, open up as much of a gap as possible right away and make Dungey try to close that gap afterward.

Kroc had 7 seconds on RD by the time RD moved to 2nd in lap 9. That's a lot of ground to cover on Ken Roczen, it's just not going to happen without a mistake.

Ken then laid down some great laps from 10-16 and pulled another 4-5 seconds on RD and then the last 4 laps RD saw the light and backed it down and gave up another 4 seconds.

They are doing work at KTM right now or it's gonna be a long season.

Kenny has been riding well within his limits for quite some time, with the exception of Monster Cup, which it's understandable to push his limits for. He is now focused on championships, has the lead, and is clearly faster than Dungey. He's not likely to let those facts slip his mind at anytime over the next 16 weeks. I would look for a mistake from Dungey, before Roczen throws anything away.

It's actually quite relevant because this isn't the monster cup...once he cart wheels, and he will...he will lose 25 points and will have to win 7-8 straight to regain the lead

I don't think he does but...consistency wins championships and the Diesel is consistent plus no longer waiting to pass.8 to 10 possible winners on any given night but really only about 5 probable. I dont think he runs away with the year like he did the night, 28 second victory but only 3 point lead.As we all know it can all change in less than the blink of an eye.Only thing to do is keep watching.

I expect Dungey to have the points lead by round 5. It'll be close for the rest of the year but Dungey will be Dungey and get stronger as the year goes on.

I think he'll throw it away at whatever round has a right turn start. Not necessarily at the start, but in that race.

A second place for Dundee at A1 is as good as a win in RD's book on how to win championships.

A big part of that growth in the lead that Kenny had when Ryan got into 2nd was when Alessi crashed, the red cross came out after Kenny went through and before Dungey and Marvin got there. They lost over 3 seconds on just that lap because of it, I'm kinda surprised nobody is talking about that. On tv you can see Kenny jump the triple with Alessi laying on the ground and then the red cross comes out just before the others get to the triple. On lap 12 Kenny ran a 1:03 and Dungey dropped to a 1:06 and then on lap 13 they both ran 1:06 it was lap 12 when Alessi crashed.
