Brazil to host 2017 FIM Motocross of Nations
BETO CARRERO (Brazil) – After today’s qualifying races Mr Giuseppe Luongo, Youthstream’s president, Mr Carlinhos Romagnolli, CEO of Romagnolli Promoções e Eventos, and Dr Wolfgang Srb, FIM/CMS director, announced that the 2017 FIM Motocross of Nations will be celebrated in the facilities of Beto Carrero in Brazil. All the parties were really happy to make such announcement, as it is not only important for the country itself, but it also shows the strong partnership between Youthstream, the FIM and Romagnolli Promoções e Eventos.
I found this dated 2013

1.2 million....UUHHGGG!
I remember Brasil being mentioned for a brief period of time, but it was back to GH shortly after announcing MXGP races there for 2015-2016 and MXDN for 2017.
Youthstream will cut deals for events that they want to happen, I had a contract in hand for 4 GPs and a Des Nations at one point, the timing and the dollars and cents didn't pencil out for the US market at the time and the lack of AMA rider participation to lose money on 4 gps to get 1 Des Nations. Then I talked to Jonathan Beasly and found out how big of a hole Budds Creek was in after the Des Nations and that was considered a huge success.
YS are wheelers and dealers so the Des Nations in Kegums is going to pay more than a des Nations in the US or France (big crowds) or this year in Italy (home country). But Youthstream will get their share, whether it's upfront money or a larger percentage of ticket sales. They are doing good business for Youthstreams bottom line. Just wish the tracks and riders that basically put the event on could see some return for the Des Nations.

Monster runs supercross.
Red Bull runs outdoors.
Budds Creek never fully recovered from it's MXdN. It's a complicated story, and the FIM isn't solely to blame, but Beasley lost his ass and has been behind the curve ever since.
Post a reply to: When does Glen Helen get the MXdN ?
