For me, Not really JMB.....All we had back then was magazines, and it sounded as if he was a sure thing for road racing. It sounded like he'd transition right into that. "Retirement" was not really the theme....

I felt like RC's retirement was a surprise since he was still on top. If not number one, he was top two.....

For me second would be RC, I was his biggest fanboy lol and was surprised and a little disappointed at the time.

Ill go with Kiedrowski the first time. If I rememeber right i read Lunnis had him convinced he was done and so he retired.

Stroupe, with Ben Townley's 3rd retirement a close second.
Choosing mind altering substances over racing is not a retirement.

And breaking oneself in half every other week is not much of a shock when they retire.

Didn't Bradshaw have something like 9 wins in SX the year before he retired? And if I remember correctly, didn't a broken femur contribute to Turpin retiring?
