Which dealer is closer?
Which one is cheapest?

Pick the most important of those two questions, buy said bike. Enjoy riding.

Buy Honda. It is really good, reliable and you will be able to sell it later for better price as it is the latest design (the next different looking CRF450R won't be released until 2020).

In your situation i would suggest a KTM because you are used to the way they work and feel ( steel frame related ) and it helps that you ca transfer some parts from one bike to another in case of emergency's and only one dealer to visit

As mentioned above, all bikes are great. Support your local dealer, build a relationship with that dealer, to where you can get the best service, and deals. My dealer has Honda, Kawasaki, and Suzuki. So I chose the 2017 Honda CRF450R Smile

Hi! In case you hadn't noticed, the japanese are stuck in a design slump. They are kicking a dead dog and need a total redesign. Ktm redesgins as needed and puts out the fastest bike consistently. The KTM has everything that the Honda needs. Better brakes, better clutch, estart and better wheels. The Husky is basically the same bike ( motor, suspension, brakes, clutch, electrics, etc.) and comes with a skid plate and twist off seat. Stay on the KTM and you can't go wrong! Don't be a Kenny! I would stick with KTM since you already have one,

You wouldn't be disappointed with the Honda either but i would stick with the KTM.

I've got the 2017 KTM 450 SXF. Haven't ridden the Honda but I absolutely love the power of the KTM, extremely useable and tons of it too. But more importantly the KTM feels nimble and handles amazingly well, from cornering to stability. The electric start of course is great, and the brakes need no further attention (unlike my Kawis). It's just a very well thought out package.

Having said that, I'm sure you can't go wrong with the Honda either.

In that case go for the KTM, especially if you have to pay extra for the e start for the Honda?

Pick a color that you like.

I rode a '17 Honda last week and it was good. I didn't want to ride it because I figured I would be driving right to the dealer to buy one...but thankfully that didn't happen. I honestly liked my buddies '15 Honda with a pipe and ignition better. Keep in mind this was after a very limited time on each.

The 250 is a 2 stroke Laughing I am interested in the 350. Is it smaller than the 450??

My avatar is a 15 KTM 450, that I didn't like so much. But the 17 looks so nimble

Another advantage is that all you'll ever need to work on the KTM is a screwdriver and a box of wood screws.

Anybody know when the KTM gets a new design??
The history tells us that the 2018 Factory edition will be a new design, not completely new like when the 2015 Factory edition got revealed.

So the 2018 FE model and the normal 2019 model will probably be new.

They are both great 2017's and better than the green and blue machines IMO. I say pick based on brand preference and access to replacement parts. Some people still have really crappy KTM dealers in their areas.

I bought the Honda mainly for this reason- It is really good. Ironically, they both feel very similar. To me the Honda feels a bit more agile, which is nuts because the KTM is insanely agile as well-

Get what you want, not what me or these other people want!! That's my only advice. I personally wouldn't buy either, but that's just me.
