What really happened to Tennant?

I very seriously doubt that finishing 5th would make you loss your ride. What else did he do?

1st JUSTIN COOPER 2nd 1st 1st
2nd JORDAN BAILEY 5th 5th 2nd
3rd JOEY CROWN 4th 6th 3rd
4th RAMYLLER ALVES 3rd 8th 4th
5th CHALLEN TENNANT 1st 9th 5th

Did the arenacross shenanigans have anything to do with it?
Sure didn't help. Don't know anything else about the kid besides that incident. Could be a good dude.. but something tells me the decision by Star was more to do with off the bike reasons than race results.

Did he ever actually have a Star ride? My understanding was the agreement entailed some form of what he (parent, grandparent) brought to the table, money wise. Maybe the terms of the agreement was limited to the amateur ranks.

What happened in AX?
At the Portland AX there was some questionable block passing, then fist throwing, then according to what I read here on Vital the mechanics started fighting in the mechanics area. Pretty sure that sums it up pretty well. I saw the block passing and fighting but nothing after that.

He was pitted out of the Star rig at Hangtown for AM day. Full Star bike as far as the parts I could see from the pits as well. Gear and all that.

Not sure what happened though.

Why didn't you also post the Pro Sport class?

1st JUSTIN COOPER 1st 1st 3rd
2nd JOEY CROWN 5th 2nd 8th
3rd JAKE MASTERPOOL 4th 5th 7th
4th MITCHELL FALK 3rd 9th 5th
5th JORDAN BAILEY 14th 6th 1st
6th CHALLEN TENNANT 11th 7th 6th

Not trying to bag on the kid, but I think the surprising thing is that he had the ride in the first place. He has never really lit the amateur world on fire: Lorretta's History

Between his past results, embarrassment at AX, and then getting worked at LL's, would you give him a pro contract for a premier factory team?

Then there was the stuff on instagram he posted about his bike catching on fire.......I don't think Yamaha was too pumped on that.

Did he actually loose the ride or did star just open up another spot for Cooper? For how much effort they put into him already it seems strange they would drop him like that.

This.

He purchased that ride. Just like the TLD ride.....

You can purchase an AM ride, just don't think the logistics work out on the Pro team to have a guy buy a spot and take a spot of a faster more deserving rider. Just sayin'.

Yeah, it seems like Weege and everyone else just assumed that Cooper took his ride and he was out. I think Tennant may have been riding hurt or got injured at the race, as he under-performed and isn't signed up to race Unadilla. If you look at the other Amateur nationals, he was beating Cooper, Bailey, Cantrell, and others. But yeah, it's premature to assume he's done with Star. We will see.

Edit: You can see here why Star took interest in him...he's legit.

They (Steve, Jason, Jimmy) talk about this on Steve's Lorettas podcast. They said Star is saying him being out is not due to his results at Lorettas and he was already on his way out (paraphrasing).

Can you be out of something you weren't really in? To put another way, if he is out the in, then is he in the out?

What about Jordan Bailey? Never seen his name before but looks solid. The rest of the top 5 I'm somewhat familiar with but not him.
