Is he still involved in the sport in any way or is he just enjoying retired life with his family?

He was on last week's DMXS and they talked about what he's doing now. It was a good listen. Phone line was garbage but the content was awesome.

Yes, him and Ricky Johnson together would be great!

He does the "Party in the Pasture" thing at his property every year for charity. I went last year and it was a great time. Awesome track and the Freestyle show / concert was cool. They have a giant bonfire and helicopter rides and stuff too. Hopefully I'll be able to make it back again this year.

You should have just said "I know what he's up to and I'm not telling". Lol.

He's building out Planet Fitness centers like a MoFo! 2 more will be added by end of year and sounded like another 2 or 3 next year. I think he owns about 4350 of them already. Obviously, that is a joke but he has a good amount up and running now.

That's awesome he's probably making way more money with his franchises than he ever did racing. Smart move by him.

Common misnomer. Windham raced in an era where 4th and 5th place guys made more money than today's top guys.

Yeah, I find that highly unlikely. He made millions racing moto. However, he is probably setting up a great opportunity for his kids. If they are smart, they will follow an education path that will allow them to transition directly into running the gyms. If I was him (or one of his kids) that would be what my plan was. If each kid gets a handful of gyms to takeover they would have a gravy train of money pouring in and a relatively cushy job. No heavy lifting.... Pun intended...

Even then, I know in the 2000-2005 era they made more money but do you think he was making over a mil a year? There aren't really concrete figures of what they made then or now but the point is I'm happy he's making a good income after retiring. It was smart that he set himself up to continue making money.

He made many millions. Probably on a million plus salary (all in) for a good 4-5yrs. Totally a guess on my part. He used to fly private jets to the races.... That is straight baller status. Even he admitted it was an incredible waste of a lot of money.

I heard an interview not long ago where whoever it was that got him started in the gym business told Kevin to call him when he made more from owning gyms than he did racing. Kdub said he had already made that phone call, so he is making more than he did racing.

He actually piloted his own planes I believe.

On a recent Pulp podcast he mentioned he got into golf as something to help keep him occupied.

both. initially flew on private charters because it allowed him to leave Friday instead of Wednesday or thursday to get to races, as well as fly out immediately after the second moto or main event. a little later on, he started flying.

he bought his first gym way before he retired. i'll admit, I had no idea what Planet Fatness was until I saw it on his fork guard at Fact. Conn. Honda.

I can remember in one of the old racer x mags they posted salaries for some of the riders....If I remember properly from Suzuki alone his salary was $875k.....

You couple that with NoFear, Alpinestars, Arai, Spy salaries, plus podium/win bonuses, he was easily clearing 1mil a year

Looks like he's eating baked goods and probably attending PTA meetings. Probably not running, biking, lifting and doing 30 min motos anymore.

I love that dude. He is one of about 3 guys in the history of the sport that I would love to hang and ride with for a day.

I may or may not have seen him having a conversation with a lamp post down near the homeless shelter
