What is Red Bud up to?!

its hard to tell what they are going to do. I asked one of the ladys there and she just said "Oh well see what the boys do" and I genuinely believe she had no idea.

I can say that Redbud is so much harder than it looks on TV. Gnarly as hell and it wasnt near as bad as the national gets.

So the new jump is a step down then?
No, its definitely still an uphill triple "twin" of the original. You can see a couple bikes that are doubling up, plus the bike in the foreground has just made the left turn after coming up the new leap.

You can tell this is the new twin by the proximity to the lane to its left (or right in the picture) and (it appears to me) that the old leap is gone and is now a fresh large mound of un-sculpted dirt... or may the start of grassy hill side viewing amphitheater.

I'm with you on that. Appears the original is toast, was there really any reason for this or could whatever they wanted to accomplish been done without all this? Whatever the reason may be, what they are putting in place of the original would have to be pretty dang big for all that work to be worth it. I have my doubts but I suppose it's possible it won't feel any different but if it doesn't then they royaly screwed up. I imagine they tested the new one before flattening a legendary piece of american Moto history.

Well this past weeks vet races there confirmed that the leap has been replaced, the old one is still there sort of but the landing is mainly demolished.

That whole stadium section does feel like one of the weirder sections in motocross since it's just back and forth in straight lines but it was great for viewing. Glad my first motocross race last year gave me a chance to see the original leap.

...they are moving the Leap. Chill Internet haha it was well needed, the lip and landing of the original, have deteriorated significantly over the years. A brand new version, of the most well known jump in MX, yea can't go wrong with that.
