What is Pourcel going to do?

9/21/2012 7:11 AM

He hasn't signed for a team in Europe, hasn't signed for a team in USA. What is the general opinion of what he might do in 2013?

9/21/2012 7:16 AM

sell team 377 product on facebook?

9/21/2012 7:20 AM

he's always been a mystery to me, but i love watching that guy ride.

it seems like he's lost a little bit of his speed since his injury at Pala, but he's still fun to watch.

i hope he comes back here, but his asking price is very steep.

What about his brother, if the team is not running next year will Seb pick up a ride, could both brothers head to the US ?

Take team CP377 to the United States for a season

9/21/2012 7:22 AM

I think he would prefer the US, he has always had more success there than in GPs. Would like to see him in Supercross again.

IMO he will race the MX GPs in 2013 & it would be really cool if he keeps employing his brother in his own team.
BUT would he be eligible to race in 250 AMA SX? now that would be a surprise.

He did not forget.

I've always found that trying to guess what he's going to do is an exercise in...WRONG.

In the past it seems to have come down to dollars or Euros.

Unfortunately he came in at the start of the American recession and the World has changed since then. I feel for riders who just missed that era of huge dollars. They all deserve to make whatever they can. He has shown in Europe this year that he doesn't have the fighting determination of Cairoli and to be honest he probably never did. His 2006 World Championship was well earnt, but he was never in the same league as the little Italian in my opinion.

Still I love his defiant attitude and beautiful riding style.

Two titles in the US though (the first after being off for a year), and way more moto wins, really should have won both National championships he contested.

Cairoli has had his number in the GPs, even in 06 in terms of speed over a season.

Can't beat watcing CP ride a bike though, I think SX may suit him better now too.

Maybe he learnt that going for the money doesn't always work out so well, ie MotoConcepts Yamaha. I wouldn't blame him for trying to get as much $ as he can after what he went through with his injury.

Would be awesome to see him at A1 ready to rock. He is who he is and he's been through a lot but can't deny that he is talented.

sidecar racing with his brother.

Last I read was Seb to Yamaha JK Racing.

ok, so this is coming from the guy who says GP winner's are the WORLDS best......CP has a GP title and 0 national titles and yet he has "had more success there..." Do you even read or think about the stuff you write?

Yes I do. Pourcel has won more titles and races/overalls in the US, than GPs.

MX1 is proving tough for him and I think he prefers SX.

In defence of Mccread Pourcel and from what I saw on TV and read he looked pretty damn good in USA when he was there and in Europe he struggled apart from that 2006 season. Even this year he has never looked like he was going to win the MX1 title. While in America he came within a few points of winning two 250cc titles and won those Regional Supercross titles.

false. His health = questionable 2nd motos cost him potential rides for a top teams.

CP's moto win average in GP's ~ 9%

CP's moto win average in Nationals ~ 40%

Includes all MX2, MX1, 250 and 450 Motocross (SX not included for obvious reasons) races!

He did try a Yamaha (JK or Rinaldi) a week ago and words on the street was Christophe tried one too. Nobody knows the outcome of it for now. CP may keep his team with the help of Monster cause as the main sponsor of the GPs, they're quite pissed that two Red Bull riders clinched the Championships and they want guys able to face Cairoli and Herlings (can't see any MX2 guy for 2013). Not sure Kawi will still be involved.

This, was the last thing Motoverte reported...

Here we go again....The guy has a GP TITLE...I repeat a GP TITLE...He hasnt won a outdoor national title yet...HOW CAN ANY POSSIBLE SANE PERSON SAY HE IS DOING BETTER OVER IN THE AMA SERIES....NUTS!!! simply NUTS!!!

He won the GP title on the way up his career ladder. Came over, gave it his best shot at his peak, and never could pull off a Title. You guys are to the point of comedy now.....Your GP glasses are no longer rose colored, they are blacked out....unbelievable....

Wait, maybe what you're really saying is that finishing 2nd in the AMA outdoors and winning 2 lites SX titles is a bigger accomplishment than winning a GP title.....NOW i get it......

I hope he finds a ride where he gets the most cash, rather where he have the most chance to clinch another title. I also don't care where he goes, as long as I can see a vid of him racing, I honestly think he's one of the best talents ever, but I don't see him clinch another title ever again. As a title contender I suggest he's totally toast, I still put him up right there among people like JMB, RC etc despite others like Reed have managed more as in titles.

Either way, I just wish him luck, and I salute he chooses another year as a rider despite where he lands.

Obviously I dig the guy. Honestly those who doesn't dig him riding, needs theraphy.

Yea.. so when was the last time YOU won a GP tittle, won sx tittles and lost an outdoor tittle with a crash on the last race??
Outside critics are so funny...

dude you're mental as well....Where did I say that CP wasn't a great rider or criticize him? All I am saying is that he was MORE SUCCESSFUL in the GP, i.e GP CHAMPIONSHIP vs his career in the AMA nationals a 2nd in '09 and 3rd in '10 and quit in '11......
