What if there was an app where you punched in your zip code and it brought up a calendar with all the races within a set amount of miles from you on it? And when you picked a day it showed you what races there were and how far away they were and when you selected a race it gave you all the information for that race?
Im thinking of developing something like this. I know theres a similar app but that finds tracks not races, and many of the GNCC type races aren't actually at tracks.

Im trying to get everything together so it can be on the apple app store and the droid marketplace or whatever for free. Would any one on here use an app like this?

Oh man, that would be amazing. Get this together, I'd be a huge supporter.

Good idea and it would be useful, but it would only work in one area right? Or more so just in the US? I understand it'd be a hassle to get race info off some of the most remote clubs.

Id download it. Then share it will all my moto buddies. I'd even pay $1-2 for it to help further the development.

Check the Moto finder app. Just got released last week. Has all that. Plus shops and tracks where you can search between states, zip codes etc. I actually posted a thread in here about it. I'll find the link

Renner....When is the droid app going to be ready. The link on your site doesn't work and the search doesn't find it in the google play store.

Not sure. I'll try and find out. If you check out motofinder on Facebook twitter or Instagram, they post a lot of the information there. But I will ask the guy that made it and see what I can find out.

Pulpmx app was only $2 when I bought it a year ago as are most apps I've seen. Not to many over $5. I was just throwing a number out there Dizzy $2 x 500,000 downloads, not bad for one app Smile

you realize how unrealistic .5 MILLION downloads are on something like that? think hundreds, maybe thousands, hell, even if ten thousands. you know how much r/d and programming goes into these apps that actually have subsistence and arent just pulling news feeds or something simple to do. Most programmers charge 150/hr + so do the math on recoop time of when you'd be making actual $ off your product.
Not venting here, just most guys dont know how many hours are into something like that. I'm in the industry so i can give you some real world figures.

Yes, Im aware of the dev. time that'll go into it. I can do all the design work myself and can gegt the basic framing for the website set up. Im just going to need someone to look at my photoshops, code the app and work the back end from the website to the app. Ive talked to a few buddies and can get this all done for around 2k or less with the brodeals ill be getting. It sounds like some dudes on here think its a pretty good idea. Only issue is going to be getting all the races loaded onto the website. Id probably need some peoples help with that. The app is going to have a submit section to add races that were missed. Im mostly focusing on the east coast to start but if someone submits a few series/tracks from elsewhere they'll gladly be added.
