Not so sure this would work, everyone would just take it the first lap so they don't passed by 5 or 10 guys

Not if there was a machine gun nest, full of guys told to let loose if anyone went through in the first five laps. Of course, that rule would have to be enforced on the crew manning the weapons. Is the AMA capable of enforcing ANY rules? I see flaws in my plan, but still, is ANY idea perfect?

Would be cool to see a short cut, but made more difficult such as if the line is 4 seconds faster then you must clear quad section and only a quad section for it to count, otherwise your docked a lap.

Could be risky but fun to see....

So it's like taking the joker lane every lap except one?

Like a transfer LOL

I like the idea to put it from the 5th lap or something. But we may see less passes, less agressive passes. So I do not know. Visually it may add something for TV, so why not? Maybe to be tested.

Sounds cool to me! Might be fun to watch too as the 2nd half of the pack fights to hit the Joker to make up valuable time! So in other words "a 1st lap clusterfuck"! LOL

If everyone takes it on the first lap, people near the back shouldn't/wouldn't take it because they would now have a 4-5 second of space in front of them. Once they get close to a rider who has taken the lane, you take the lane to pass.

Granted, the guy in first would HAVE to take it first lap, the same could be said for the top 5.

I'm afraid it would get ugly with team tactics - blocking and take outs. It would be rollerderby all over

Just a rule can't take it until 1/4 of the race is over. When the neon pink flag waives.

I like the machine gun aspect. Maybe percussion grenades at random times throughout the race . Before a jump or maybe during the landing....

I think it would be an interesting way to make passes. In theory, a fast guy that has a poor start could utilize it at the right time to have some open track in front of them, therefore putting down some really quick laps. Might make for some interesting racing.

Cordon it off with some sort of barrier and then open it up at random. The lane might be open this lap or next, or not at all, or 3 times per main, and you have to be on your toes to catch it. The race officials would keep it open for just a hair longer than the slowest lap time, so nobody could take it two laps in a row.

I actually just listened to PulpMX and they mentioned it briefly but didn't spend much time discussing it. Didn't seem to think it would make any difference vs having the Joker lane being a slower lane.
