Actually, Michael Byrne told me it was his shoulder after the main event crash in Santa Clara that put him out.

His Twitter said shoulder. Kept looking for him in both heats. Then again in the semis. In fact track announcer said he was in the semi. I guess he figured that since they had him as 19tj in what would have been his heat.

And he did come out a bit late for his parade lap and did a very slow uneventful ride around. Too bad. Was looking to see him compete.

which means I doubt he will risk the next SX race, instead he will heal up for outdoors...

Most likely his shoulder. He was actually running late for autograph signings because he was getting his shoulder worked on. He went out for opening ceremonies and cruised around, but didn't race at all.
