With Marvin starting to really find his mojo (i know he has been sick the last 2 races) And RD losing point now having a 12 point lead now in the championship, Does roger tell marvin to settle for 3rd in that situation if it comes up again? Or is every man for himself? I know Marvin is 49 points back of Dungey but i was just curious what the situation is down at the ktm team with 6 races left.

No.

Maybe there's some talk about it at the very last round if it comes down to it but I can't see Marv or Dungey being super thrilled on the idea. Decoster was a racer, I doubt he even mentions it.

Marvin will never settle for anything less he's able of he's not going to slow down for dungey he gets payed to win races not to give hand outs.

I think it could come into play the last two rounds. It's too early to start team tactics for now. I think Marvin has a lot of respect for Dungey and vice versa. I think everyone knows this is Dungeys last SX series. Marvin is out of the championship hunt. If Marvin can help Dungey secure the championship I think he will. Not really sure Decoster even needs to say anything. Marvin helping Dungey is by extension helping KTM.

Ok so how about JG 33 racing Dungey hard in the last few races if he can and Tomac is out front .. Maybe Kawasaki will reward him with one more year on his contract..Hey anything can happen! Lol is this Marvin last year on KTM? I see Honda or Suzuki ( new bike next year)his next home

I'd imagine it weighs heavier on Marvin than anyone.

I think we'll see him pull up as it get's closer to the end to do what's best for the team. I don't think anyone would tell him to though.

Or I'm totally wrong and they've already told him to and he's like "F*^K THAT, BITCHES!" - BRAAAAAAAP!

If anyone is a big enough dirtbag to take out the points leader on purpose ,he's your guy.

Marvin wont give anything to Dungey as long as Marvin is clearly in better form. I actually worry for Dungeys sake, he needs to start turning this around.

He could actually lose the red plate soon. There are 2 riders that are better than him at the moment and he doesn't start nearly as good as we've seen the past two years.

What Marvin needs to do is get up there and battle with Tomac. 2nd every round isn't going to cut it for Dungey
. Marvin needs to get up there and push Tomac. Either beating him which will cost Tomac one point against Dungey assuming Dungey is in third. Or push him into a mistake. Dungey doesn't have to win, he only has to finish ahead of Tomac a few times.

If you don't want that kind of thing, do what Kawasaki does...hire one contender & one wannabe that will never be a real threat, but will keep the bike color in the top-15.

I don't think Grant would take him out but I was just wondering would he race him harder because right now he kinda looks like he isn't racing that hard at all,you know how these guys turn it up a click when it's contract time

Lol yep! On that note maybe they should hire Chad Reed so that they have a fan favorite at the races, hire Mike Alessi so that they get every holeshot, hire Weston Pieck as the enforcer, keep Grant around as the resident wannabe contender/dirtbag and retain Tomac as the champion? The KTM guys would then have to pass 5 green guys before they could run up front. Haha if only they had unlimited funds.

Really? There's not a bigger dirt bag than Grant?

Did you listen to the post race press conference? They basically laughed at the idea of that.

I wish they would just retire instead tbh.

I guess times have changed, as I remember Honda sitting another Frenchman because he refused to play team tactics back in the early 90's. Now its fair play and participation trophies for all!

I think this is exactly right. If it comes down to it and Marvin is in front of Dungey and Dungey can win the championship by having those points he will let Dungey take it. It'll cause some drama for sure, but it is what it is.

Agree with most of the above, but Musquin fighting for a few wins helps to minimize the damage as well. Dungey's still got to finish ahead of Tomac at least 1 round in that scenario.

I must have missed the memo that lets us know a 1 on your front plate with a red background and a 12 point lead on the championship means you suck and you need to retire, that youve lost your mojo, that team tactics need to come into play....

Decoster is going to tell them he wants a 1 2 finish, and he wont give a damn which one of the two orange bikes finishes in 1 or 2. Again, nobody ever wants a let brock bye scenario.

I remember Grant taking out Alessi at Lakewood (09?) and Alessi was out for the season, he was already riding injured from breaking his kneecap practing somewhere.

I thought I remembered Grant getting the favor returned a year later in SX, too.

OK, that was pretty cool. Great duel between Bayle an Stanton. Not quite what I was expecting though; I thought there was some soap opera spoof with moto stars as the main characters lol.

Wondered how I could've possibly missed that...

Thanks Cool

I can see Decoster letting Marvin beat Dungey but to finish between Tomac and Dungey with Tomac winning seems crazy to me. I doubt we will see that again.

Musquin is tied 3rd in points with Seely. Everyman for him self.
