Matthes' podcast with Ping talked about Lanninovich. I guess he has been on the couch not riding or training, so he wasn't up for the TLD ride.

Jeff Hicks.. Hannahs little buddy?...
Dave Longcor? Saw Dave Taylor at first Anaheim sx, he's around all the time. Pete Murray lives close to me and I think he's still in the mortgage industry. Haven't see Jerry Aleman in years.

Saw Eric McKenna yesterday at Est. He'll be 50 a week after me soon. Rememberin' Teggers asking who'll be 50 this yr besides Tedder...McK is retiring real soon; dunno if he'd go as far as Lorettas though....He might knowing how competitive he is. Seems like a bunch should be 50 soon. Mark Easley Mike and Jim Chamberlain(wasn't it Jungle Jim?) |

Heard Easley was still doing some riding now and then....
Tamietti was good. How 'bout Jim Sendelbach, Tarantino, Terry Clark, the Wankets, Pete Snorteland?..... What happened to Rocket Rex? He punched and punted more riders...I figured he'd be racing forever. Was like his life winning races no matter what race. Cantaloupi raced PV bikes at Wosicks track last yr or two.... I saw Beier working at Race Tech a few yrs ago, talked a liltte NorCal stuff; Still there? Wasn't there a rider so dominant at Ascot they called him Mr. Ascot or King of Ascot? When you mentioned Tamietti, reminded me of it. Might not have even been; thought there was though. I went down there to help my cousin for the Half Miles they use to have before they closed it down for good...now wish gotten to ride it....... |

David Newell? "super smooth" is actually working at Britt Honda in Denver. His nephew actually had a pretty bad accident at a local track in early december. From what i hear recovery is going well.

Andy, I"m pretty certain Eric turned 50 last year. He was eligible to ride 50 Master with us in the OT events, but chose to stay down in the 40 Master A class. Which, of course, allows me to be one place higher in the finish order.....

Mr. Ascot hmmmm not sure on that one, I'll ask my pops about that. Rex is still up in Apple Valley, he has horses, he was at Monsters of MX too.

1/30/2009 4:54 PM King of Ascot= "Radical Ron Turner". He would ride 3 different brands of bikes and win every moto. He was hard to beat at the local So. Cal night races.
Ascot, OCIR, Corona and one more I can't seem to remember on Wednesday nights, brain fade. Ron was also one of the most humble riders I have ever met. great person and great rider. Alan |

Robot is a big real estate / home loan guy in Newport Beach... Has the trophy wife, loves cycling, looks the same. I get my Robot fix when I talk to Pete Murray every 3 months. Murry is in the same industry as Robot. (in fact, Robot got Murray into that industry if I can recall)... has a few kids and still rides a few times a month and tests with Dirt Bike.
BTW Sondy, great running into you by credentials....becker |

1/30/2009 8:17 PM Laughridge last rode Canadian Nats that I know least 5 or so yrs ago. Don't remember what happened to him. Was top rider there.
Steve Mertens anyone? NorCal racer; rode with Morais as mini, Intermediate at all big amateur races. Think got hurt, but don't want to speculate. '03 was last I saw him on track, SF SX in fact. |
