That's an interesting point, though overall I still think it's more down to the track designs.

Let us not forget that the above example was an exceptional race, and everyone said so at the time. It's not like every race back in 2005 was like that.

A1 had 5 180s
those five 180's equate to less actual lanes. less places to pass. more single-file-one-way-through lines.

in 2009 when different riders designed the tracks, those were the best tracks since the days of the two-stroke.
