The forecast is calling for thunderstorms, gusty winds, and the possibility of hail.

Been watching weather myself. Accuweather is the only one not saying bad weather. Typical.

Would really like to see them postpone it to Sunday... What will they do with lightning in the area during race day?

Let's hope Accuweather is closer to accuracy than The Weather Channel, but I wouldn't bet on it.
Either way, attendees should prepare for inclement weather before they head to the track.

What year was it when the hurricane came through?, 2012 maybe? I'll never forget that one. Wind was whipping, big nasty black clouds, some rain. Therr was major lightning off in the distance too.Luckily the worst of it held off until the race was over. I think Barcia won that day.

Its July, a storm system is coming through but usually the rains are in short bursts. Could make for an interesting day with some possible delays to the program. Star yamaha might want to richen their fuel map for this one.

Yup, it was Hurricane Irene and it made a huge mess of the place once it hit.
This was also the year that Dungeys bike wouldn't start and he missed the 2nd moto gate drop, 100 yards from being a lap down, he stayed unlapped and finished 7th. Most bad ass ride in moto history.

Without a doubt the most bad ass ride in moto history Roostsalot. There's a video of Dungey while it happened.

Wet sand is fun.

They wont postpone, watch radar and make a decision to hold up a few then go till dark.

I've raced in storms so bad you'd be climbing in a tornado shelter. One at Lorettas had lightning hit a tree just off the road beside a jump that caught the haybales on fire.

One at gatorback that blew the bike out from under me and broke my leg.

Good times

Tonus? He isn't really a sand guy.
He's more of a sand guy than Webb and Savatgy. He finished second in the last sand moto he did in Europe.
Especially when it's muddy he could have a chance to land more up front despite his training deficit.

My money is on webb. The year before he turned pro he raced some nesc races there that i was racing. I think hes closer to being a "local" than most of the other contenders.

I wouldn't worry too much about rain. It's so dry in MA right now that half the lawns are turning white.

After thinking we were going to lose the Southwick National forever just a few years ago, I'm pumped to go back to MX338 again on Saturday. We need the rain here in Western Mass. It's been a dry summer so far. I'm looking forward to hearing a few two strokes too. My buddy was at the track today. He called me up and said Barcia and Decotis were hauling the mail.

That video is the definition of bad ass, the passion in that is unreal!

Such a badass picture. Almost tells the whole story.

I'm a 1/2 hour from the track and it's raining right now and is forecasted to continue through Sunday. Looks like a wet weekend but not a washout.

Wet sand is awesome to ride in.

More like loam than sand. The berms are going to be insane. Hopefully they'll develop multiple lines.
