Weston Peick

Anyome know what happend, 40-35? Is the hype gone? Haven't heard much about him throughout the season. Hes scored some solid top 10's and a few top 5's this season but the swing between 1st and 2nd moto is inconsistent. Wonder if his fitness has caught him at the tail end of the season.

It sure has been an up and down season for him outdoors. I think he is on a one year deal with JGR, it will be interesting to see where he goes from here. Coming into the season he was being talked about as being a 2nd tier guy along with Anderson and Baggett, sure hasn't looked that way recently. He had a solid moto 2 at Unadilla, squeeking by Canard at the end of the moto to grab a 5th place finish.

I thought I read 2 year for WP40. First year on the bike, he had some pretty gnarly injuries during supercross, who knows if he's completely healed. I'm looking forward to watching him indoors next year

There were many people saying he was going to win motos this year. But they've been quiet lately. I'm openly not the biggest fan of the guy, so maybe more critical of him than others (especially around here)...but he's been very up and down lately. It seems like he was a bit over hyped coming into this season....especially around these parts.

Yeah, something must be up with him that is not being openly talked about. He appeared to be a top 5'ish sort of guy and possibly the best of the JGR bunch. Once Barcia started coming on he just appears to have faded off. Injuries, bike problems, wrecks, who know what? I'm a little disappointed as I was hoping for a solid outdoor for him and JGR together.

Here's a guy that was the most deserving of all privateers for a factory ride, earned his way, got some serious respect from fans and industry types, then let the factory rides go to his head. Liked his passion as a privateer, can't stand his attitude or views toward fellow competitors now that he's on a team.

I thought he signed earlier this year for 2016.

According to Racer X this is what happened at Utah.

"Weston Peick didn’t have his best day today. After crashing out of the first moto he lined up for the second, probably because he wanted to punish the track, but went down again after two laps and ended up pulling out. No word on whether or not he went back out at the end of the day and beat the track senseless with large chunks of reinforced concrete."

I'm one of them that figured he'd win a moto. Unless the stars line up just right next Saturday, that won't happen. I also figured Poto would be taking home the GP crown too. Maybe that's why I don't gamble!! Laughing

He's had a rough season, but has proven his speed in both SX and MX. Currently 9th in points, despite having crashed out of a few motos and having bike problems in at least 2 motos. Weston hasn't proven to have Dungey or Roczen speed, but that's pretty rare air to be breathing. 5th-10th is still very respectable, particularly if a rider believes they can make it to the next step in speed.

Never thought he would win motos but 2nd , 3rd maybe, he did better on his privateer bikes in mx, and the bike isnt the issue, look at nicoletti n barcia

The guy went from full privateer to a top 10 rider. On his good days, he's top 5 with a rare podium. On his bad days, he crashes out or has a mechanical. Taking everything into account, the guy is still a top 10 rider at the highest level of US motocross/SX. After next weekend he could finish the season as high as #8 overall in the points. What's not to like or respect? Ya, he's not Tomac, Dungey, Canard, or Kenny. Otherwise, he can beat anybody else on the track on any given day - and occasionally he beats Kenny, Canard, Dungey, and/or Tomac if they have a bad day.

I was hoping the upward ark in his career would continue but he seems to have leveled off this outdoor season.

Oh well, its a long time till A1.

He originally signed a one year deal with JGR, but before the end of SX they extended his contract through next year.

Nicolette is worth every penny they're paying Weston.

Weston was worth every penny in Supercross when he was out scoring Nicoletti (when he raced) and Barcia week-in and week-out.

The guy is 9th in the points and finished moto's 6th or better several times, He's had his dnf's but hardly what I would call terrible.

I think He's doing very good.

He is doing great but the talk on vital was him winning a moto or overall, which is crazy talk.

More wishful thinking, He did get a 3rd in a Moto , take into account people here think a 125 2 stroke is competitive.

I don't see the comedy in here other than it's amazing how quickly people forget about results from earlier this year.

Kinda like people forgetting about Barcia's skills when he was hurt during SX and bashing him? Now the tide has turned and it's a different barometer used to judge?

If I were Barcia I´d be happy to have a teammate like Peick, who gets good starts, can hold up the competition, and no one dears bang bars with him. Kind of like having an older brother out on the track pushing the bullies away

No it isn't, that's not crazy talk, he's strong and shit and took all of Barcia's friends... read it here... Barcia's over rated... The gang laughed along...

One race he was talking about other riders, calling em squids etc. He had an ego in SX. I wanna say he got upset with Dungey but I'm not 100%.

I think the term he favors is "spodes." I remember thinking to myself, after one of his comments, that it wasn't very long ago that he was one of the "spodes" qualifying thru the LCQs in Supercross..
