If it's true that he will race some opposite coast 450 races, where do you think he ends up in the points? The vault says MC finished 16th in the series with 71 points in '92. That would be tough to beat I think. I don't see Webb on the box in a part time, get your feet wet season. Next year though, may be a different story.

Out of all the two digit guys I saw at Milestone last week, Webb looked the most comfortable.

I can see Webb racing Reed's bike in 2016 at some stage, I know Yamaha will want him on a 450 in 2017, but I am sure other teams will bid hard for him too

Rumor is already signed with Factory Yamaha (think from a Pulp podcast). If so, he left money on the table (I expect Honda or RCH Suzuki [if Roczen leaves] to counter with big money]). I think he will dominate 250F West (maybe lose 2 races - max). Outdoors, J Martin, AC92 will be ready to rock.

It's a double edge sword though. . . I won't mention what would lead to a drop in stock.

I don't think you are crazy, didn't Seely find himself on the podium, at least once, when he did a few 450 races before his rookie year? I feel like Webb has a bit more of an edge than him, so there is some potential to score some good points on the 450 this year. More than 71...that might be a tall order.

Maybe he signed something giving Yamaha the first right of refusal. That would allow him to negotiate with other teams and make Yamaha match them. That's as far as I would have let him go if I were his agent. Call me, Coop...

Windham won Charlotte 97 on a 250, and won the 125 West title.

Same night MC got a flat tire on that piece of shit Suzuki and that's why he doesn't have 8 straight titles. Emig had an off night, MC was running 2nd or 3rd, and still ended up like 9th on a flat.

That`s one way to look at it. I see it as Reed is on a Webb`s bike for now.

If he's on the line he will be going for the win.

Webb could do some damage this year if he gets the chance. I could see some top 5's and possibly a podium finish.

There have been some good part time 450 guys,

MC did 6 races in 1992 for 16th with 71 points.
Canard did 6 races in 2010 for 14th with 103 points. He had 4 podiums, two 2nds and two 3rds.
Dungey did 3 races in 2008 for 21st with 51 points. 2nd place at Minneapolis and 4th at Indy.

Windham did 5 races in 1996 for 19th with 70 points.
1997 he had 4 starts for 18th with 67 points. Kdub took the win at Charlotte and had a 2nd at Pontiac.

Seely had 3 stints as a 450 fill in.
2011 4 starts for 25 points and 31st in the series.
2012 4 starts for 24 points and 37th in the series.
2014 3 starts for 26 points and 36th in the series. He got on the podium with a 3rd at Indy.

Had any of those guys raced as much as Webb on a 450? Hes been racing that 450 all winter. He could easily have stepped up to the 450 class and have been a serious title contender. Atleast podium contender
